What makes a musical have the popularity for more than 10 years? To answer this question, we can simply look at NOTRE DAME DE PARIS, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in Korea. Based on the novel written by Victor Hugo, NOTRE DAME DE PARIS has been a best-selling musical in Korea for the past few years. Its opening number, 'The Age of the Cathedrals' is a popular audition song and was sung in different media platforms by several popular musical actors. That is why this year's production gained more attention than ever. The grand 10th-anniversary production of NOTRE DAME DE PARIS is currently performing in the Grand Theater of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts until August 5th.

This season is meaningful in that it's the 1000th performance in Korea. With original cast members such as Choi Jeongwon and Ivy and new members such as Kim Jiwoo, the show once again managed to show the audiences why CHICAGO is one of Broadway's longest-running shows and why CHICAGO is a must-see piece of work.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of his death, last year, Double K Film&Theatre presented a musical entirely about Lee Sang's life and his works. Not only that, the show dazzles the audience the moment the doors of the theatre opens. The popular play series, CAPONE TRILOGY has once again managed to mesmerize audiences within only a few weeks after opening.

It has been 7 years since the last performance of BILLY ELLIOT (Korean production). Ever since that, it has been one of the shows that fans highly requested for a second production. However, there was no news until last year when Seensee Company dropped hints of the return of BILLY ELLIOT. Soon enough, the cast was announced and the Korean audiences were invited to join Billy's journey from November 29th, 2017.

'Hear my voice, did you really hear me, hear my voice, and you think you know me?' the lyrics of the last song spread throughout the theater, as the audience applauded while the actors took their bow. The theater doors opened and as the audience made their way toward the exit, I could see some people wipe tears from their face, while others were murmuring about how the music was moving. It came to me that once again, BARE: THE MUSICAL has managed to not only 'touch my soul' but the audience's heart.

Two shiny red boots with a 6inch heel and the message, "You can change the world when you change your mind" are the two things that pop up in my head when hearing the word. KINKY BOOTS.  With a successful first premiere in 2014, the show has returned for its third performance in Korea.
