Generation A is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Utah Local Festival of Arts (UTLFA). This event will provide a place where local artists will display their work while attracting visitors who have an appreciation for art. The festival will be held Saturday October 9, 2010 from 10am to 11 pm at the Salt Lake Masonic Temple, 650 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City.

The hope-filled, Depression-era musical Annie is currently playing at the Heritage Theatre in Brigham City, and has extended its run through September 18th, due to the popularity of the show.

This November the Pinnacle Acting Company will present Dancing at Lughnasa, a play by Brian Friel. The play tells the story of five unmarried sisters living in Ireland in 1936 and will be hosted at the Midvale Performing Arts Center.

September 18th at Sandy, Utah's Amphitheater, David Wilcox will perform a concert featuring his solo acoustic music. Wilcox's performances emphasize his connection to music as a way of 'navigating a life worth singing about.'

Monday, September 13, the Sandy Arts Guild presents Inspired by Broadway, a showcase of Broadway hits at the Amphitheater in Sandy, Utah. Performers from past Sandy Arts Guild musicals will present a series of popular showtunes.

Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenberg, Justin Timberlake, Tory Burch and Anna Wintour will be among the many fashion industry stars featured in FASHION'S NIGHT OUT 2010, a one-hour primetime special that takes viewers behind the scenes of the world's largest fashion celebration, to be broadcast Tuesday, Sept. 14 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The special will be hosted by Emmy Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris, star of the CBS comedy series, 'How I Met Your Mother.'

On September 7th, First Lady Michelle Obama will invite world renowned dance companies to perform at the Administration's first event celebrating dance. The White House Dance Series: A Tribute to Judith Jamison will honor Jamison for her outstanding career as an American dancer, choreographer, and Artistic Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for the past 20 years. The event, featuring American dance from ballet, modern and contemporary dance, hip hop and Broadway will be held in the White House's East Room at 5:00 PM and will be pooled press.

On Friday, Sept. 3 at 10:30p.m., the award-winning East Lynne Theater Company presents a free performance of a reading of 'Historical Spout Offs' compiled and edited by Tom Byrn, who is currently in ELTC's rib-tickling production of 'The Dictator.'

According to a post made in Damon Kirsche's blog, the actor will be appearing with Jason Graae, Lesli Margherita, Pamela Myers and Alet Taylor at the Gardenia Lounge in West Hollywood on September 1. The show, Kritzerland at the Gardenia- Lost in Boston, is the first of the Gardenia's new series of Kritzerland at the Gardenia, a set of shows based on Bruce Kimmel's record label and albums. This show will be under the musical direction of Shelly Markham.

Tony Award nominated actors Harry Groener and Anthony Chisholm are set to star in The Train Driver, according to an announcement from Long Wharf Theatre. The theatre will present The Train Driver this fall, from October 27 to November 21.

The Ivoryton Playhouse will be holding non-Equity and Equity auditions for all roles (adult male and female) for a November production of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest on Monday, September 13th from noon to 8pm at the Rehearsal Studio, 24 Main Street, Centerbrook. Everyday Rapture's Natalie Weiss will make her Los Angeles debut on September 3rd at Barre Vermont - formerly Upright Cabaret. Audiences at the 9pm concert can expect a mix of musical theatre and pop standards, including ‘The Spark of Creation,' ‘House of Love,' Ironic' among others. Weiss will be joined by a few special guests who will be announced shortly.

Following the dedication of Baltimore native Frank Zappa's statue, and free performance by his son Dweezil and Zappa Plays Zappa on Eastern Ave @ Conkling in front of the Enoch Pratt Southeast Anchor Library, the Patterson hosts the After Party.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Pasadena Pops have a new conductor, the Oscar, Tony and Emmy Award winning composer, Marvin Hamlisch. Hamlisch will take on his role as principle pops conductor in 2011.
