The Actors Fund has announced that the previously scheduled benefit concert, THE LOWER DEPTHS - IN DEFENSE OF THE BARITONE VOICE featuring Marc Kudisch, has been cancelled. The concert was to play New World Stages on Monday, February 14th at 7:30pm for one night only.

The first publicity images for the new Broadway musical Baby It's You! have been released! Baby It's You! tells the inspiring story of Florence Greenberg, the woman who changed the recording world forever when she discovered The Shirelles and created Scepter Records, becoming the music industry's first female powerhouse. Starring Tony Award winner Beth Leavel as Greenberg, conceived by Floyd Mutrux, directed by Floyd Mutrux and Sheldon Epps, and written by Tony nominated book writers Mutrux and Colin Escott, the team behind Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet, Baby It's You! begins performances at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) Saturday, March 26, 2011, and opens Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 6:30pm. BroadwayWorld has learned that the upcoming Broadway production of ARCADIA has delayed the start of performances by one day, now set to begin on February 26. The delay is due to more rehearsal time needed, given weather complications and delays in visa processing for the British cast members.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the Roundabout Theatre Company will produce a workshop of Yank!, a WWII musical. The York Theatre Company premiered the show last season and since its critically acclaimed reception, buzz has been swirling about a Broadway transfer as early as next season. Original Yank! cast member Bobby Steggert will be reprising his role in the upcoming workshop. The New York Times reports that the Syfy network will be treating the participants of its Upfront Presentation ('what ratings statistics it touts or who drinks the most cocktails at the bar') to a performance of SPIDER-MAN at the Foxwoods Theatre on March 22. The New York Times has revealed that Sanaa Lathan will star in Second Stage's production of Meet Vera Stark this season. She joins Stephanie J. Block and Karen Olivo. The production also stars Daniel Breaker, KIMBERLY HÉBERT GREGORY and Kevin Isola in this world premiere comedy, BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK, the new play by Lynn Nottage, directed by Jo Bonney. According to the report: 'Speaking to the New York Times at the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards, the film's writer David Seidler - who is nominated for a best original screenplay Oscar - said: 'It will be on the West End of London in the fall, and Adrian Noble is directing it.'
