Jessica Lewis Jessica has worked in theater for nearly ten years. She has worked in theatrical production for the producers of STOMP, DAMN YANKEES, NUNSENSE, DINNER WITH FRIENDS and more, and for over 5 years has been involved in the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise, having discovered the production at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival. She has since helped foster its growth through multiple large-scale workshops and two major commercial productions as an Associate Producer. After dedicating many years to theatrical and live entertainment production work that has taken her all over the world in 2009 she assumed the post of Senior Managing Editor at BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater site on the net, for which she controls operations, routinely interviews Broadway's A-list talent and films/edits a bulk of the sites popular BWW TV content. She is a graduate of Brown University and has worked professionally in production for the Brown University Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, Rights and Reasons Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop and more.

Tonight, July 25, several same-sex couples from the Broadway community wed onstage at the St. James Theatre immediately following this evening's performance of HAIR. These unions are among the very first in New York State, following the landmark bill recently passed by state legislators. The event is being arranged by HAIR and Broadway Impact. SCOTTSBORO BOYS' Colman Domingo officiated the ceremonies. BroadwayWorld was on hand and takes you inside the St. James for the event below!

GLEE was a big hit at this year's Comic-Con yesterday, July 24. The event featured a sneak peek at never-before-seen GLEE footage and behind-the-scenes secrets, followed by a Q&A session in which fans asked everything they ever wanted to know about the Golden Globe-winning series. Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr., Jenna Ushkowitz, and Dot Marie Jones represented the cast, greeting thousands of fans. Co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, as well as producers Dante di Loreto and Zack Woodlee and GLEE in 3D director Evin Tancharoen were there for the production team. The new, off-Broadway production of Rent begans previews on, July 14, and opens Thursday, August 11 at New World Stages. The highly anticipated resurrection of the cult classic, written by Jonathan Larson, is being directed by Michael Greif, who directed the show's original off-Broadway and Broadway productions. The creative team includes choreographer Larry Keigwin, music supervisor Tim Weil, set designer Mark Wendland, costume designer Angela Wendt, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Brian Ronan, and projection designer by Peter Nigrini. BroadwayWorld has learned that MEMPHIS star Chad Kimball will take an indefinite hiatus from the Tony-winning show beginning October 23, 2011 due to nerve damage he's suffered in his neck as a result of performing the demanding role of 'Huey Calhoun' eight nights a week. Kimball created the role 'Huey' and has been bringing him to life at the Shubert Theatre for nearly two years. The nerve damage began to create problems for Kimball a couple of months ago, and he has missed several performances since.

The Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre has announced that national radio host Robert Aubry Davis (WETA's 'Around Town' and Sirius/XM Radio) will be making his stage debut, playing the iconic role of Edna in its upcoming production of the celebrated musical Hairspray. Directed by Signature Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer, Hairspray will run from November 21st through January 29th. Based on the 1988 cult film directed by John Waters, Hairspray features music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan. The musical, which played on Broadway for 6 ½ years, took home eight 2003 Tony Awards, including 'Best Musical.'

Manhattan Theatre Club has just announced that Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon will return to MTC to star in the Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play WIT by Margaret Edson, directed by MTC's award-winning Artistic Director Lynne Meadow. The limited engagement of WIT will begin previews Thursday, January 5, 2012 and open Thursday, January 26, 2012 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Michael Reidel reports in the New York Post this morning that Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson star Benjamin Walker will be back in the New York theater loop when he leads a reading of Bus Stop next month as cowboy Bo Decker. Amanda Seyfried will co-star alongside Walker as Cherie. Shuler Hensley will also participate. Hollywood's Paula Wagner, who owns the rights to the project will produce. Scott Ellis directs. A revival of Bus Stop is reportedly bound for Broadway.
