Geva Theatre Center's 2009/10 Season continues with THE CLEAN HOUSE by Sarah Ruhl, which opens on October 13 and runs on the Mainstage through November 8.

Feinstein's at Lowes Regency, the nightclub proclaimed 'Best of New York' by New York Magazine and 'an invaluable New York institution' by The New York Post, will continue its star-studded Fall 2009 season with the debut of Tony Award winning actress and vocalist Victoria Clark and Tony Award winning music director, arranger and orchestrator, Ted Sperling in 'The Vicki and Ted Show.' For their engagement at Feinstein's, Ms. Clark and Mr. Sperling celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of a remarkable friendship that began as students at Yale University and inspired some of Broadway's most unforgettable moments, including How to Succeed in Business..., Titanic and The Light in the Piazza. Their acclaimed show - which debuted at the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater in Washington DC - will make its New York debut the Regency Hotel. The show will run from Tuesday, October 20 through Saturday, October 24.

Rising star of musical theatre, Cassidy Janson is confirmed to join the cast of AVENUE Q this fall. She takes over the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut from Julie Atherton on October 5 as the show enters its new booking period. Cassidy gained attention when she covered and appeared in the role of Elphaba in the West End hit Wicked. Prior to that she played Susan in the UK premier of Jonathan Larson?s Tick Tick Boom at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

Bartlett Sher?s hit production of Rossini?s comic masterpiece, Il Barbiere di Siviglia (?The Barber of Seville?), returns to the Met stage on October 3. Joyce DiDonato stars in the role of Rosina, with Barry Banks in his first Met performances as Count Almaviva and Rodion Pogossov in his company role debut as Figaro. John Del Carlo sings the role of Dr. Bartolo, and Orlin Anastassov makes his Met role debut as Don Basilio. Maurizio Benini conducts.

Colman Domingo's solo show A BOY AND HIS SOUL, opens Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre tonight and will run through October 18th. The PASSING STRANGE star most recently performed A BOY this week as part of the Broadway Sessions series on September 22nd.

The New York Times reports that Tom Stoppard is among the winners of the Japan Arts Association's Praemium Imperiale arts awards. The global award is presented annually for lifetime achievement in categories not covered by the Nobel Prize. According to the Association's website, since the honor's inception in 1989 it has become one of the highest international distinctions for artists. The ceremony will take place in in Tokyo on October 22nd.

London's Hackney Empire will go on hiatus beginning January, reports confirm. The London venue will offer its full slate of productions until the end of the year and will not reopen until late 2010 with a repertoire of holiday offerings.

As previously reported, Hugh Jackman will star as P.T. Barnum in the upcoming musical film 'The Greatest Showman on Earth' written by Jenny Bicks (Sex and the City) and produced by Twentieth Century Fox. The studio has been in talks with music sensation Mika to compose the soundtrack. Yesterday, the singer spoke with New York Magazine to discuss his creative process and, though tight-lipped, confirmed a possible contribution to the film.

Liz Tuccillo, along with three other former writers of 'Sex and the City,' have collaborated on the theatrical series CEDAR CITY FALLS: A MIDWEST CONFLICT,' to launch at New York's Cell Theater next month. Miranda Harcourt will be making her first appearance on stage in five years for the world premiere of BIOGRAPHY OF MY SKIN on the October 9th at Downstage. Written by Stuart McKenzie, the show is a continuation of their verbatim work consisting of true stories and accounts from their lives over the last four decades.

New Island Festival, the international arts festival that inhabited Governors Island this month, concluded its engagement on Sunday. Highlights included visits by Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, who spoke at the closing ceremony, HRH Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima, who attended the first week, and a performance by Armin van Buuren, the internationally acclaimed Dutch DJ.

The Colony Theatre Company presents the third production of its 35th anniversary season, the West Coast Premiere of BETTER ANGELS, written by Wayne Peter Liebman and directed by Dan Bonnell. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Kellner-Avery Productions announce the addition of 2 performances to the World Premiere production of HURRICANE. This epic new musical takes an all-but-forgotten moment in history and brings it to life with the largest cast in NYMF history, 30 in all. Directed by Michael Bush, HURICANE features a book by Michael Holland and Eric Bernat, and music and lyrics by Michael Holland. After selling out its initial run, two performances have been added: Fri. Oct. 9 at 5pm and Tues. Oct. 13 at 5pm. A complete schedule is below.

Lord of the Dance has announced its tour dates including the Seattle engagement on Saturday, November 7. Lord of the Dance will perform two shows only at the Paramount Theatre on November 7 at 2 pm and 8 pm.

British actress Carey Mulligan, who most recently played Nina in the recent Broadway revival of THE SEAGULL will be honored by the Hollywood Film Festival on October 26th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Variety is reporting.
