Tony Winner Bernadette Peters' 'Stella Is A Star' Set for Publishing in 2010November 10, 2009Broadway star, Tony, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner, Bernadette Peters will pen a second children's book, Stella is a Star, set for publishing and release in the spring of 2010 by Blue Apple Books. The book, inspired by Peters' dog Stella, will feature illustrations by Liz Murphy. Proceeds will go to Broadway Barks, the charitable organization co-founded by Peters and Mary Tyler Moore over over 10 year ago in support of animal shelters.
Jason Donovan & Liz McClarnon Set for WAR OF THE WORLDS Tour in 2010November 10, 2009Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Jason Donovan and Atomic Kitten's Liz McClarnon will topline a new tour of Jeff Wayne's musical adaptation of HG Wells' The War of the Worlds, which will begin in Amsterdam on November 25, 2010 and play stadiums around the Europe. The tour will make stops in Antwerp, Dublin, Belfast, Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bournemouth, London, Cardiff, Brighton and Wembley, and will conclude in Germany in January 2011. Specific tour dates are expected to be announced shortly.
Dreamscape Theatre Presents IN FIELDS WHERE THEY LAY, 12/11 - 1/2November 10, 2009'In Fields Where They Lay' by Ricardo Perez Gonzalez, developed by Brad Raimondo, is a new play about the Christmas Truce in World War I. It's a portrait of a squad of front-line British soldiers who, with their German counterparts, shook hands, shared cigarettes and sang Christmas carols together in the brief, precious interruption in fighting that occurred on December 24 and 25, 1914. The Dreamscape Theatre will present the debut production December 11 to January 2 at Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 West 26th Street, directed by Dreamscape's Producing Artistic Director, Brad Raimondo.

NBC Kicks-off Holidays with 'Sing-Off' Competition Series, 12/14 -12/21November 9, 2009NBC plans to spend the holidays with a new music competition series. Network sources have confirmed 'The Sing-Off,' in which a cappella groups compete for a Sony Recording Contract, will premiere Monday, December 14 at 8:00/7:00c. Additional episodes (all at 8:00/7:00c) will also air Tuesday, December 15 and Wednesday, December 16 with the season finale on Monday, December 21. Each installment will run two hours.
