Jennifer Skura Boutell

Jennifer is an American-born published writer, experienced actor, theatremaker, and teaching artist who grew up in Dallas, TX, moved to Los Angeles, started a family in New York City, and now lives in Atlanta. Throughout her career, Jennifer has had the honor of collaborating with award-winning creators and innovators. She has received funding and merit-based support for her own work as well, including scholarships for both of her degrees in creative writing at Goddard College and theatre at Sam Houston State University, plus, various residencies, generous support from Windmill Arts, and a recent grant for continued learning. In the fall of 2024, Jennifer will begin earning an M.A. in mental health counseling at Agnes Scott College. It is Jennifer's passion to help enhance the lives of others by sharing her education as well as her experiences confronting toxic shame through her art.

The first Broadway show I saw live was CABARET with Gina Gershon as Sally Bowles in early 2001. I had just moved to NYC sight unseen, having never had the opportunity to visit!

DR. SEUSS’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS THE MUSICAL played to a delighted Atlanta audience for ten performances at the Fox Theatre earlier this month as part of the Broadway in Atlanta's 40th Anniversary Season. The New York Times describes the show as “100 times better than any bedtime story,” and has been enchanting adults and children alike. “We’re greatly optimistic about the return of Broadway to the city of Atlanta and thrilled to share the news that shows previously announced for the 40th Anniversary season will remain available to patrons under a revised schedule,” said Vice President of Broadway in Atlanta Russ Belin.
