Judy Collins Set For Concert At The Downtown Cabaret Theatre 9/25August 11, 2010Judy Collins has thrilled audiences worldwide with her unique blend of interpretative folksongs and contemporary themes. Her impressive career has spanned more than 40 years. At 13, Judy Collins made her public debut performing Mozart's 'Concerto for Two Pianos' but it was the music of such artists as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, as well as the traditional songs of the folk revival, that sparked Judy Collins' love of lyrics. She soon moved away from the classical piano and began her lifelong love with the guitar. In 1961, Judy Collins released her first album, A Maid of Constant Sorrow, at the age of 22 and began a thirty-five year association with Jac Holzman and Elektra Records.

Cotuit Center Auditions for DARK OF THE MOON & IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE August 10, 2010The Cotuit Center for the Arts will hold open auditions for Dark of the Moon, to run October 7-24, 2010. Dark of the Moon is a drama with music set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, based on a variant of 'The Ballad of Barbara Allen', with witches, conjurers, and God-fearing folk. Director Mary Arnault will be casting roles for all ages. Singers, dancers and musicians encouraged. Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 2-4 PM and Sunday, August 15th from 2-4 PM.
