Special appearances in March by internationally acclaimed LGBTQ performers Tim Miller and Holly Hughes continue to juice up Victory Gardens Fresh Squeezed, the theater's series of low priced offbeat performance-based events targeting younger and diverse audiences while celebrating alternative voices and approaches to creating new work.

Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook finishes up its twelfth season celebrating the diversity of American popular song with a final week of different and dazzling concerts. On March 5th, one of the hottest composers on the theater scene - Jeanine Tesori ("Shrek The Musical" and "Caroline, or Change") will perform an evening of her music along with special guests, who will include Chuck Cooper, Daniel Breaker, and a host of others.

Tony Award winner Michele Pawk is set to star in the upcoming production of THE BLONDE, THE BRUNETTE, AND THE VENGEFUL REDHEAD, opening at Pittsburgh's City Theatre on May 8th. The production will see Pawk take on seven different roles in the one-woman show by Robert Hewett.

Variety is reporting that Alan Ayckbourn's new play, DEAR UNCLE, based off the classic play UNCLE VANYA by Anton Chekov, will star British actor Ralph Fiennes. Matthew Warchus is signed on to direct.

McCarter Theatre will continue its 2009-2010 season with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of David Mamet's American Buffalo. The production is directed by Tony Award-nominated August: Osage County actress Amy Morton and starring August: Osage County's Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts, runs from March 9 through March 28 (press opening: Friday, March 12 at 8pm). The cast will also feature John Judd and Patrick Andrews.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting stage and screen star Julianne Moore will rejoin the cast of 'As the World Turns' for at least one episode in its current and final season. Moore began her career on the show as half-sisters Frannie and Sabrina Hughes.

John Reed, best known for his work on numerous Gilbert and Sullivan productions, died at the age of 94 on February 13th, his 94th birthday. Reed was known for his stage work and was specifically noted for being one of the best at handling the Gilbert and Sullivan patter song.

Donna Lynne Champlin is set to appear for a CD signing/concert at the Lincoln Center BARNES AND NOBLE on Wednesday April 28th, at 6pm, rescheduled from a previous engagement that was cancelled due to inclimate weather. Champlin will promote her upcoming CD entitled 'Old Friends.'

New York's WaxFactory has announced that its 2010 lineup will include BLIND.NESS, QUARTET v4.0, and DELIRIUM 27. BLIND.NESS features an all-female cast and will begin the season in January, running the 6th through 12th. QUARTET v4.0 will follow, running February 24th through 28th. DELIRIUM 27 will run March 24th through 28th. Each of the performances will take place at Abrons Art Center.

Alec Baldwin, Matthew Broderick, Martin Short, Madonna, and a host of others will guest judge on the upcoming season of the ABC television show, 'The Marriage Ref.' The season begins February 28th and is hosted by Tom Papa and was conceived by comedian Jerry Seinfeld.

The National Tour of the hit musical WICKED will welcome two new cast members on March 10th. Natalie Daradich will join the cast as Glinda and Chris Peluso will take over the role of Fiyero when the tour reaches its stop in Richmond, Virgina at the Landmark Theatre.

The American Repertory Theatre has announced the design team for their upcoming production of JOHNNY BASEBALL, The New Red Sox Musical (formerly called Red Sox Nation), opening May 14th at the Loeb Drama Center. The play will be directed by acclaimed director Diane Paulus and feature choreography by Peter Pucci.b

Collaborative Art Project (CAP) 21 will honor Tony Award winner Richard Maltby, Jr. and Academy Award Winner David Shire at their 2010 Spring Gala on March 11th. Several performers have been announced, including Alexander Gemignani, Jenn Colella, and Maltby's daughter, Charlotte Maltby.

The Broadway League has just issued the following statement 'As of now, all performances on Broadway will take place as regularly scheduled on Friday, February 26.'

MAMMA MIA! will offer discount tickets for a special Snow Day performance tonight, February 26th. Tickets will be available at the Winter Garden box office for $31.50 for the 8:00pm show. No ID is required to purchase the tickets.

The first results show of 'Idol' brought about at least one unexpected decision from America's votes, as 'Idol' said goodbye to four of the Top 24 competitors. The night featured performances from two performers from last year's 'Idol,' as well as the four losing competitors.

After last night's disappointing performance from the women, America, as well as the judges, was hoping from a step up from gentlemen. And, while they did have a better overall showing than the women, it was another disappointing night from the "Idol" contestants. Several of the performers were good, but none seemed to up the ante and knock their song out of the park.
