Jeanine Tesori's 'American Songbook' Concert to Star Breaker, Cooper & More, 3/5March 1, 2010Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook finishes up its twelfth season celebrating the diversity of American popular song with a final week of different and dazzling concerts. On March 5th, one of the hottest composers on the theater scene - Jeanine Tesori ("Shrek The Musical" and "Caroline, or Change") will perform an evening of her music along with special guests, who will include Chuck Cooper, Daniel Breaker, and a host of others.
McCarter Theatre to Host Morton-Helmed BUFFALO Starring Letts; Opens 3/9March 1, 2010McCarter Theatre will continue its 2009-2010 season with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of David Mamet's American Buffalo. The production is directed by Tony Award-nominated August: Osage County actress Amy Morton and starring August: Osage County's Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts, runs from March 9 through March 28 (press opening: Friday, March 12 at 8pm). 'Gilbert & Sullivan' Actor John Reed Dies at Age 94March 1, 2010John Reed, best known for his work on numerous Gilbert and Sullivan productions, died at the age of 94 on February 13th, his 94th birthday. Reed was known for his stage work and was specifically noted for being one of the best at handling the Gilbert and Sullivan patter song.

WaxFactory's QUARTET v4.0 Ends Run 2/28February 28, 2010New York's WaxFactory has announced that its 2010 lineup will include BLIND.NESS, QUARTET v4.0, and DELIRIUM 27. BLIND.NESS features an all-female cast and will begin the season in January, running the 6th through 12th. QUARTET v4.0 will follow, running February 24th through 28th. DELIRIUM 27 will run March 24th through 28th. Each of the performances will take place at Abrons Art Center.

And, while they did have a better overall showing than the women, it was another disappointing night from the "Idol" contestants.
