Great Lakes Theater Festival (GLTF) will conclude its 2009-10 season in the company's revolutionary home at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare, with a Spring Repertory that features Keythe Farley, Brian Flemming and Laurence O'Keefe's outrageous Off-Broadway Musical of the Year, Bat Boy: The Musical and William Shakespeare's magical masterpiece, A Midsummer Night's Dream. The productions will be performed in rotating repertory April 8 - May 16, 2010. The Spring Repertory features GLTF's resident artistic company of actors performing two alternating plays on the same stage over six weeks. Veteran Festival artist Victoria Bussert will direct Bat Boy: The Musical.

The Laguna Playhouse recently announced their upcoming 2010-2011 season, which marks the company's 90th anniversary. The 2010-2011 season begins July 6 with the award-winning hit musical Life Could Be a Dream. Other sensational shows on the season schedule include the World Premiere of the poignant dramatic comedy I Loved Lucy, the World Premiere co-production of the romantic musical Daddy Long Legs, Hershey Felder in MAESTRO: The Art of Leonard Bernstein, and the classic Noel Coward comedy Private Lives.

Tonight, the 'Idol' contestants were given the task of taking on the rather extensive Lennon/McCartney songbook. Given the sheer number of tunes to select from and the vast differences in types of songs, it would seem each contestant should have been able to find a song that would suit both their voice and personality. Many of the contestants, thankfully, did so, giving one of the best shows so far this year. As the competition heats up, it's interesting to see the bar set to a new level each week , although, each week it also becomes all the more clear who doesn't belong.
