Theater for the New City has announced a production of SATAN'S WHORE: VICTORIA WOODHULL, written by Richard Geha, for March 22 - April 8, 2012. Lissa Moira directs this post-Civil War, period drama about the sexual liberationist Victoria Woodhull. Don Garverick choreographs, with set design by David Mansley and lighting design by William Giraldo.

Broadway In Chicago and the producers of the new musical THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards® including Best Musical, announced today that single tickets for THE BOOK OF MORMON in Chicago will go on sale only to American Express Cardmembers March 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. and will remain on sale through March 15, 2012. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on March 19, 2012 at 12:01 a.m. at the Bank of America Theatre (18 West Monroe) box office only until 7:00 a.m., Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster phone lines will be available starting at 7:01 a.m. The remaining Broadway In Chicago box offices: Oriental Theatre (24 West Randolph), Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 West Randolph) and the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 East Chestnut) are open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Casting has been announced for Alan Plater's CLOSE THE COALHOUSE DOOR, which is being revived by Northern Stage and Live Theatre in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Directed by Samuel West, with additional material by Lee Hall, the production will open at Northern Stage on Wednesday 18 April, with previews from Friday 13 April and will then tour the UK until June 2012.

Stage Left Theatre has announced the program for LeapFest 9, Stage Left's annual new-play festival, running May 15 - June 3, 2012. LeapFest is an annual event featuring five new plays with socio-political themes, presented as workshop productions in rotating repertory. This year's festival includes new works from Claudia Barnett, Shayne Kennedy, Alex Lewin, Barbara Lhota, and Penny Penniston.

Back to perform on The Bijou Theatre stage is the world touring a capella group, Blue Jupiter, on March 10 at 8pm.

The world premiere production of DC-based playwright Jacqueline E. Lawton's BLOOD-BOUND AND TONGUE-TIED, first seen in workshop form during the Strand Theater Company's Friends & Neighbors Festival 2011, will run March 23 to April 7. The show will be directed by Lindsay Gentry, stage managed by Christina Cordle, and feature Derek Cooper as Oedipus, Chris Knight as Laius, Morgan Mosley as Creon, Ann Turiano as Jenna, and Kelli Wright as Jocasta.

HAMLET, a staged concert of a new soundtheatre/opera by Carson Kievman opens this Friday, March 2 at the SoBe Arts' Little Stage Theatre, Miami Beach, at 8pm. It runs until the 11th of March.

Artistic Director Robert Falls announced Goodman Theatre's 2012/2013 subscription season today, featuring four world- and two Chicago-premiere productions including a new adaptation of Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK by Tony Award-winner Mary Zimmerman.

The Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival is seeking submissions nationwide from playwrights 19 years of age and younger. The submission deadline is March 15, 2012. Winning plays will be presented by professional actors and directors from May 31 - June 24, 2012 at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

Alchemy Theatre Company of Manhattan in association with Playwrights' Playground NYC will present the world premiere of FLIGHT by Michel Wallerstein, Off Broadway at the DR 2 Theatre, 103 East 15th Street - off Union Square. Previews begin this week on Friday, March 2nd and the opening is Wednesday, March 7th for the limited engagement.

Blake Harrison will make his West End debut leading the cast of Rob Hayes's play, STEP 9 (OF 12) which is opening at Trafalgar Studios in a new production directed by Tom Attenborough. The four week run begins on 4 May 2012 with previews from 1 May 2012.

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician John Mayer launches his first U.S. tour in two years on April 9 at IU Auditorium in Bloomington, stopping in 18 cities through May 6. Sundance Institute and The O2 today announced that musician, producer and actor Tricky will reunite on stage with vocalist/musician Martina Topley-Bird for the first time in 15 years to perform his award-winning debut album Maxinquaye in its entirety on Friday, 27th April, 2012 at the first-ever Sundance London as part of the four-day festival's music programme.
