The Echo Theater Company's next production UNDERNEATH THE FREEWAYS OF LOS ANGELES will live-stream April 2 for sixteen Zoom performances. Written by playwright Matthew Paul Olmos, this interactive murder mystery experience has been inspired by historical events centering in and around the Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights. Michael Alvarez directs the cast of Mia Ando, Morgan Danielle Day, Amy K. Harmon, Gloria Ines, Roland Ruiz and Darrett Sanders.

Actor/singer/comedian Brian O’Sullivan will perform his and Little Fish's first live Zoom LITTLE FISH, BIG LAUGHS WITH BRIAN O'SULLIVAN April 2 & 3, 2021. A regular denizen of the Los Angeles comedy clubs and theatre community, Brian will communicate his comic tales peppered with his witty lyrics and guitar-playing.

The intercontinental collaboration of Open-Door Playhouse and Our Kid and Me Productions THE CANTERVILLE GHOST premieres online March 24, 2021. Open-Door creator Bernadette Armstrong directs this adaptation of the short story by Oscar Wilde featuring a combined cast from Los Angeles and Oxford, U.K. Bernadette agreed to share some insights on pivoting from live theatre in these pandemic times.

Playwright/director Chelsea Sutton's latest SPITE & MALICE premieres March 22, 2021 as one of the thirteen projects in RealTime Intervention's POST THEATRICAL. An homage to her grandmother, SPITE & MALICE has the audience interacting with the SPITE & MALICE actors, using materials mailed to the ticket holder. The busy, multi-project-juggling Chelsea managed to find a few moments to answer my inquiries.

Playwright/performer Anna LaMadrid teams up with director Michelle Bossy, as she performs as the fictional character Viviana she wrote.

Little Fish Theatre's annual short play festival PICK OF THE VINE, premiering March 5, has smoothly morphed into a hybrid stage-to-film online. The filming of this year's final seven plays, chosen out of 800+ submissions, have been overseen by producer Tara Donovan, as well as producing artistic director Lisa Coffi. Tara graciously made some time to answer a few of my queries, inviting Lisa to fill in with more specific answers as needed.

The film adaptation of Herbert Siguenza’s solo show A WEEKEND WITH PABLO PICASSO begins its on-demand viewing March 6, 2021. Presented by CaltechLive! and produced by San Diego Repertory Theatre, Tim Powell and Todd Salovey direct WEEKEND, based on Herbert's sold out nationwide, one-man show. The very busy Herbert managed to carve out a little time to answer a few of my enquiries.

The Groundlings Theatre Main Company member Edi Patterson will premiere her one-nighter ONE! March 2, 2021. Directed by Groundlings alumni/teacher Deanna Oliver, Edi will improv and riff completely on audience suggested topics.

Jake Broder's UNRAVELLED virtually premieres February 25, 2021. Jake explores the not-oft-told, surprising, complicated connection between genius, art and medical science, told via the correlation between modern Canadian artist Dr. Anne Adams (1940–2007) and French composer Maurice Ravel (1875–1937). Jake found some time between his multitasking of juggling his multiple writing projects to answer a few of my queries.

International City Theatre's 36th season opener - the virtual presentation of Yasmina Reza’s ART - begins streaming on February 18, 2021. Directed by caryn desai, this story of how a purchase of a modern art piece affects friendships stars Brent Schindele, Brian Stanton and Michael Uribes. Brent took some time to answer my queries amidst newborn caring and producing his and his wife Erica's entertaining and informative regular YouTube segments for LagunaPlayhouse.

Magician Dan White will be Zooming his (usually in-person) close-up magic and mentalism virtually in his THE MAGICIAN ONLINE through March 2021. Presented by theory11, ticket holders will be sent a sealed box of 'magic' that is to be kept unopened until instructed, for interacting with Dan during his Zoomed performance.

Minnesota’s Theater Mu's first mainstage production since the pandemic lockdown - playwright Susan Soon He Stanton's TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY  - will be live broadcasted February 5 through February 14, 2021, with video-on-demand available February 15 through February 21, 2021. In support of Theatre Mu, East West Players is including BIRTHDAY in its 55th anniversary season as a part of an East West Passport membership.

Neil Patel, the ever-busy production designer of AppleTV+'s hit period comedy Dickinson, always finds time to design a little (or large) theatre set. Ever in demand, Neil has shared this creative talents in venues all over the world, including those in Mumbai, Tokyo, London and Venice. Neil took a break from his Dickinson designing to answer a few of my queries.

The Laguna Playhouse will be streaming a virtual staged reading of D.L. Coburn’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, THE GIN GAME February 14 through February 16, 2021. Jenny Sullivan directs this much-produced two-hander with a pair of very juicy acting roles for Joe Spano and JoBeth Williams as two nursing home residents. Haddad has taken his many unpleasant dating experiences and fashioned them into his one-man show HI, ARE YOU SINGLE?, which posits the question, 'Why can't you find a person with cerebral palsy sexy?' Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in association with IAMA Theatre Company presents this streaming-on-demand beginning 9:01pm January 31, 2021.

The Broad Stage presents DANCE CAMERA WEST DRIVE-IN, BEST OF THE FESTIVAL, a unique drive-in experience showcasing the very best dance films from around the world on the big screen, with two different programs on Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31, 2021 outdoors at the Santa Monica College Bundy Campus - East Parking Lot. I got a chance to toss a few queries to Dance Camera West's head honcho Kelly Hargraves.

Andy Einhorn's tribute to his dear friend Jerry Herman YOU I LIKE: A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF JERRY HERMAN virtually opened January 10, 2021. Safely filmed on the Pasadena Playhouse stage, familiar Jerry Herman classics (and not-so-familiar, undiscovered gems) will be wondrously performed by the uber-talented vocalists Ashley Blanchet, Nicholas Christopher, Lesli Margherita, Andrea Ross, Ryan Vona, and Andy himself.

Sri Rao's BOLLYWOOD KITCHEN world premieres for the Geffen Stayhouse January 15, 2021. Written and performed by Sri, BOLLYWOOD KITCHEN pairs an interactive cooking experience with Sri's knowledgeable Bollywood musicals recommendations. Viewing audiences can choose the level of interactive participation, from cooking along with Sri, cooking beforehand, or simply viewing the cooking lesson by a connoisseur of India food.

Opening night of YOU I LIKE: A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF JERRY HERMAN will livestream at www.PasadenaLive.org January 10, 2021; with video-on-demand streaming through February 7, 2021. Conceived by music director Andy Einhorn, this virtual homage to the genius of Jerry Herman will be the first tribute to him since his passing last year. Tony and Grammy winner John Lloyd Young's not letting lockdown keeping him  from working his melodious pipes. Fresh from this livestreaming concert VEGAS HOLIDAY earlier this month, John takes to the Feinstein's at Vitello's stage to livestream his show HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021. In between rehearsals and creating new rhinestone works, John found a few spare moments to answer a few of my queries.
