WhatsOnStage has just reported that the West End will dim its lights in honor of late theatre legend Stephen Sondheim. Sadly, the composer and lyricist passed away at 91 on November 26th. The tradition to dim the lights of theaters to pay respect to the greatest contributors of theatre continues with Sondheim's passing. The lights of London's West End theaters will be dimmed on November 29th at 7pm for two minutes.

Jamie Cesa and Bel Chiasso Entertainment have announced new project Invincible: The Musical, a new Broadway-Bound production featuring the music of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, with book by Bradley Bredeweg, direction by Scott Schwartz, choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant & Christopher Grant, orchestrations by Neil Giraldo, music direction & arrangements by Jesse Vargas, and casting by Stewart Whitley.

Omaha’s favorite holiday tradition, A Christmas Carol, will open Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP). The show will run in the Hawks Mainstage Theatre from November 19 through December 23.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas, a one-woman show starring Emily Ellet, December 3-December 26. Vintage Theatre Productions presents the regional premiere of “Who’s Holiday” December 1 - 31. Performances are Wednesdays and Thursdays; Tuesday, December 14, 21, 28; Monday, December 20 and Friday, December 31 at 7:30 p.m. Vintage Theatre is located at 1468 Dayton St. in Aurora.

Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra

After many delays due to the COVID 19-pandemic, playwright Terrence McNally’s award-winning Love! Valour! Compassion! opened at The Market Theatre in Johannesburg last week.  Lefra Productions announced the 25th anniversary revival of the hit play in 2020, but was forced to postpone the launch of the production on a number of occasions. 

It was recently reported that their theatre department had to cancel two performances of their currently running productions of Treehouse and The Reaper Stole Your Cat after a member of the former's crew tested positive for Covid-19. For everyone's safety, the school ended up cancelling both shows through this weekend.

Walt Disney World has just announced the Disney on Broadway concert series lineup. The series is one of the many festivities guests can experience at the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. The star-studded event will include guests from several Disney on Broadway shows including Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast and Mary Poppins.

1st Stage is set to begin the 2021-2022 indoor season with Secret Things, a deep and heartfelt story of truth, discovery, and romance imbued both with gorgeous magical realism and fascinating true history of Sephardic Judaism in the American Southwest.

Riverbank Arts Centre presents the world premiere of Keith Walsh’s debut play,  Pure Mental, on national tour to 17 venues across the country from November 19 - December 17. Opening at the Everyman, Cork on Sunday 21 November.

Actor/writer Tulis McCall adds singer to her list of talents with her newest show, Tulis Talks and Sings, which returns, after its debut in October, to the nightclub stage at Don’t Tell Mama in December and January.

The Wiener Staatsoper website reported recently that beginning next week, performances at the Wiener Staatsoper Opera House will continue to run, but with stricter coronavirus restrictions.
