Yesterday, September 9, the cast of Broadway's IN THE HEIGHTS recorded a number for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS annual Carols for a Cure Album, which features Broadway casts performing holiday standards in the style of their musical's numbers. Broadway's Bianca Marroquin (In the Heights, Chicago) spearheaded 'To Mexico From New York with Love,' a one-night-only benefit concert last night, September 1, at the Merkin Concert Hall in the Kaufman Center. The concert featured performances from Tony nominee Tom Wopat (A Catered Affair), Carol Woods (Chicago), Jaime Camil, Tony nominee Brenda Braxton (Smokey Joe's Café), Raymond Bokhour (Chicago) and many more.

Last night, August 2, audiences at Joe's Pub took a musical road trip across the country in Free to Dream, an evening devoted to the songs of Katsaros and Schermerhorn. Featuring an all-star Broadway cast including Rent star Anthony Rapp and Avenue Q's John Tartaglia and Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Free to Dream showcased the people and places that make up the fabric of America; from country, rock and pop, to swing and the blues. Proceeds from Free to Dream benefit The New York Pops' education programs, which bring music to thousands of public schoolchildren across the five boroughs of New York City. The evening was hosted by The New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke, and featured the Camp Broadway Kids, as well as the voice of Willard Scott as ‘DJ Sam.'

Last night, July 26, the Town Hall hosted ALL SINGIN' ALL DANCIN,' an exhilarating extravaganza of song and dance directed and choreographed by Jeffrey Denman (YANK!, WHITE CHRISTMAS). Inspired by the legendary Broadway dance of The Astaires, Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson, Gower Champion, Bob Fosse, and Jerome Robbins, the show consisted of original choreography created exclusively for the concert and was set to some of the greatest show music ever written including 'Slaughter on Tenth Avenue' and 'Cell Block Tango.' Viagara Falls, a new comedy by Lou Cutell and Joao Machado, opened this week at the Little Shubert Theatre. Presented by Stanley Browne, John Finocchio and SJ Productions, Inc., Viagara Falls features a trio of TV, stage and film veterans: Bernie Kopell ('The Love Boat'), Lou Cutell (original Broadway production of Little Me) and Teresa Ganzel ('The Tonight Show,' 'Teachers Only'). The cast of Broadway's ROCK OF AGES performed in JCPenney in order to kick off the summer's Broadway in Bryant Park Series. The performance took place on June 25 at the JCPenney store at 33rd Street and 6th Avenue and kicked off the official announcement of The Broadway in Bryant Park season.

'An Evening with Julie Andrews' saw a night of music from her greatest stage and screen performances, as well as the live narration of the story Simeon's Gift, the best-selling childrens book written by Julie and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton (now available). Andrews and Hamilton recently released a second book, A Very Faity Princess. In attendance were special guests Christie Brinkley, Juergen & Anke Friedrich, and Jay McInerney & Anne Hearst McInerney.
