With 'THE BROADWAY LOCAL', World MasterCard celebrates the creative theatre professionals who bring their talents to the city's Broadway stages and call the Big Apple home.

Artistic Director David Saint announced today the selections for George Street Playhouse's 2009-2010 season. In this economic downturn, when many arts organizations across the country are choosing to revive popular plays and musicals, Artistic Director David Saint has instead renewed the theatre's commitment to producing new work. The 2009-10 George Street Playhouse season will feature no less than four new works and one play, still to be announced.

The 5th Avenue Theatre regrets to announce the cancellation of preview performances Thursday July 23 through Sunday July 26 of the upcoming World Premiere of the new musical Catch Me If You Can, but will be offering two additional performances of the show next week on Tuesday July 28 and Wednesday July 29. The two additional performances will be at 7:30 pm.

Showbiz411 reports that Sony Pictures is in final talks to acquire the film rights to Michael Jackson's final rehearsal footage, which is priced at $60 million. The film studio and AEG Live, the concert promoter of the canceled shows, have set a release date of October 30th 2009.
