Shrek The Musical features music written by Olivier Award-winner Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie & Caroline, or Change), a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole), and the production is directed by Tony nominee Jason Moore (Avenue Q). Jeanine Tesori also will be at the helm of the cast album as producer along with Shrek The Musical's sound designer Peter Hylenski as the album's co-producer. Variety has reported that Edmund Purdom, best known as Prince Karl in the 1954 MGM musical 'Student Prince,' died January 1st of natural causes in Rome, Italy. Purdom was 85.

Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words continues its sit-down, open-ended run at the Triad Thea ter, 158 West 72 Street, tonight Monday, January 12, at 7:30pm, with a cast that includes Scott Adsit, Richard Kind, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, Sherri Shepherd, Tony Award winner Julie White, and New York Post reporter Michael Riedel.

Tony Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth has joined the cast of Kern and Hammerstein's Music in the Air, the second Encores! production of New York City Center's 2008-09 season, running February 5-8. (Ms. Chenoweth replaces the previously announced Marin Mazzie. Ms. Mazzie is no longer available due to the death of her father.) Music in the Air, a rarely seen 1932 musical, will be directed by Gary Griffin with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Michael Lichtefeld. The production runs for five performances at City Center, West 55th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues).
