The Texas State Premiere of the award-winning wildlife rescue documentary Lion Ark - about the rescue of 25 lions - will be given extra bite as the event is to raise funds to send the team back to South America to save dozens of animals suffering in illegal circuses.
The dramatic live action rescue documentary Lion Ark brought its tally of awards to six at Palm Beach International Film Festival winning the audience vote for Best Documentary in a field of 28 documentaries. In its 19th year, the Palm Beach International Film Festival featured 165 films, closing with Jason Priestley introducing Cas & Dylan, which he directed, starring Richard Dreyfuss.

The Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts have partnered with Tribeca Film Institute® (TFI) for the second time to present April's Midnight Moment. This month's film, Local/Express, is made by some of the 20 participants in this year's Tribeca Film Fellows® program, a year-long fellowship for New York City students aged 16-18. The film will premiere on Times Square's spectacular billboards just before midnight on Wednesday, April 1st, and play every night throughout April from 11:57 p.m.-midnight.
On the centennial anniversary of the legendary Academy Award winner Budd Schulberg's birth, Gersh announced today that they have signed a deal with his widow Betsy Schulberg to represent the estate of the late author and screenwriter. Though Schulberg died in 2009 at the noble age of 95, the impact of his writings and the legacy of his works are as alive today as ever during his lifetime. Gersh and Betsy Schulberg will work together to shepherd the multiple adaptations and revivals currently in preparation.

The 3rd annual Sun Valley Film Festival wrapped up a successful, fun-packed festival over the weekend with a jumping Saturday night awards party hosted by actor Michael Weaver and a rousing set by Nashville rockers Those Darlins entertained the crowd with the winners pogoing and moshing their way into the night. Sunday saw a final Coffee Talk with filmmaker Kevin Smith on hand to delight a packed house at the nexStage Theater, as well as present an encore 20th anniversary screening of his landmark film CLERKS.

This program, FAMILIAR FIELDS: The Community of Sarah Orne Jewett, is based on the life and work of the 19th century South Berwick, Maine author. The presentation explores issues of community as reflected in Jewett's stories, and the ways in which her regional portraits speak about the essential New England character The presentation combines food, friends, and discussion along with excerpts from Pontine's original adaptation of Jewett's The Country of the Pointed Firs, and Dunnet Landing Stories.
