Christina Mancuso

Christina Mancuso, a mother of 3, has traveled to well over 70 cities on various Broadway National Tours.  She is now residing in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio after spending a year in NYC to support her daughter's Broadway debut. Besides writing, traveling, and mothering, she is a 13-time marathon runner (including the 2015 Boston Marathon), freelance artist, classical violinist, and a previous Paralegal with over 20 years of writing and research experience.  Mancuso is listed in 'Who's Who Worldwide' and has been recognized for "Outstanding Leadership in Media" by the International Women's Leadership Association.

The Houston Symphony will perform the world premiere of Conquest Requiem from Composer-in-Residence Gabriela Lena Frank at 8 p.m. May 5-6 and 2:30 p.m. May 7 at Jones Hall. Brooklyn Museum and Bard Announce American Decorative Arts Curatorial Program

The Brooklyn Museum and Bard Graduate Center announced today a collaborative, multiphase project aimed at rethinking the presentation and study of American decorative arts. Starting in fall 2017, Bard Graduate Center faculty and students and Brooklyn Museum curators will come together as a think tank to examine the organization, display, and interpretation of the Brooklyn Museum's extensive collection of American decorative arts. This will launch a series of courses on American decorative arts at the Brooklyn Museum, led by Kevin Stayton, Curator Emeritus, along with Barry Harwood, Curator of Decorative Arts, among others. The course, open to all students enrolled in Bard Graduate Center's M.A. and Ph.D. programs in decorative arts, design history, or material culture, will serially study parts of the Museum's collection. As its outcome the course will lead to the redesign of the gallery display of the decorative arts collection.

Riccardo Muti Conducts the Chicago Symphony in Three Weeks of Subscription Concerts

Music Director Riccardo Muti returns in April to lead the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) in three weeks of subscription concerts.  Muti and the CSO conclude the CSO's season-long presentation of Beethoven's piano concertos in a performance of the Piano Concerto No. 5 (Emperor) with Radu Lupu as soloist followed by a rare performance of A Symphony to Dante's Divine Comedy by Liszt (April 27-29 ). Muti's residency with the CSO culminates with performances of the complete cycle of symphonies by Johannes Brahms (May 4-9 and May 11-13). During his residency, Muti also leads the Civic Orchestra of Chicago in a free, open rehearsal on April 30.

The enhanced concert production will be directed by Louisa Muller with costume design - featuring character-based treatment of modern concert attire - by David C. Woolard. The performances will take place Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 3 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m.
