STAGE TUBE: Woman Sues OU to Reclaim Stolen Artwork by NazisJanuary 29, 2014A woman in Paris is suing the University of Oklahoma's Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art to try to retrieve a painting. The painting, 'Shepherdess Bringing In Sheep,' is an 1886 work by French impressionist artist Camille Pissarro. It was stolen from Raoul Meyer, a Jewish businessman in Paris, during the Nazi occupation of France.
STAGE TUBE: Sneak Peek at Annie Proulx's BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN Opera, Opening Tonight!January 28, 2014Gerard Mortier and the New York City Opera have commissioned Charles Wuorinen, an American composer, to turn Annie Proulx's Brokeback Mountain into a work for the operatic stage. Proulx wrote the libretto, and Wuorinen completed the opera in 2012. The premiere was postponed after New York City Opera's General Director, Gerard Mortier, resigned.
