Green Day's explosive award-winning Broadway musical American Idiot opened in the UK on 17 July at The Arts Theatre, Leicester Square. The full cast are Luke Baker (Theo), Natasha Barnes (Heather), Alexis Gerred (Tunny), Llandyll Gove (Gerard), Raquel Jones (Extraordinary girl), Natasha Karp (Alysha) Robyn Mellor (Libby), Lucas Rush (St. Jimmy), Steve Rushton (Will), Aaron Sidwell (Johnny) and Ross William Wild (Favorite Boy). They join the previously announced X Factor star, Amelia Lily who is playing Whatsername.

The brand-new Lexington Theatre Company presents its inaugural production of 42nd Street. Tony Award Winner Karen Ziemba, will play Dorothy Brock, alongside other Broadway veterans and up-and-coming actors. 42nd Street is presented by Variety Live at The Opera House with Co-Producing Sponsor Kentucky One Health, and runs July 23, through July 26 at the Lexington Opera House. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley kicks off its 2015/2016 season with the World Premiere of Triangle, a new musical with music by Curtis Moore, lyrics by Thomas Mizer, and book by Moore, Mizer, and Joshua Scher, originally developed at the company's 2012 New Works Festival. Signature Theatre is excited to announce the cast of The Fix directed by Signature Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer (Broadway's Gigi, Follies, Million Dollar Quartet). Featuring a book by John Dempseyand music by Dana P. Rowe (the creators of Brother Russia and The Witches of Eastwick), the show quickly became a favorite among Signature's artistic team during its U.S. premiere at the Theatre in 1998, cementing a longstanding relationship with Dempsey and Rowe. Running in the MAX Theatre August 11 - September 20,the inside-politics musical satire is the first production of Signature Theatre's 2015/2016 season.  Check out a sneak peek below!

A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN stars Mary Bridget Davies, following her Tony Award nominated Broadway run. The Ohio Wine Festival presented by PNC and Columbus Monthly kicked off its 14th year at the North Market on July 10, and runs through this weekend only.  Twenty local wineries, including award-winners, six additional, and two right from Central Ohio (Signature Wines and RockSide Winery & Vineyard) all offered tastings by the pour, glass, bottle, or case. 

Siblings Vanya (Ross Lehman) and Sonia (Janet Ulrich Brooks) have spent their adult years trapped in mundane lives at their family's cottage, caring for their ailing parents. Meanwhile, their self-involved sister Masha (Mary Beth Fisher), a glamorous movie star, has traveled the world in decadent style. After their soothsayer/cleaning woman Cassandra (E. Faye Butler) warns Vanya and Sonia of impending doom, Masha arrives unannounced, accompanied by her hunky young lover Spike (Jordan Brown), who sparks a friendship with the beautiful girl next door Nina (Rebecca Buller) much to Masha's dismay. When Masha reveals plans that will upend the family, long-repressed resentments bubble over in a weekend full of wild costume parties, voodoo dolls and surprise romance. The creative team includes Charlie Corcoran (sets), Amy Clark (costumes), Robert Perry (lights) andRichard Woodbury (sound). Alden Vasquez is the production stage manager and Neena Arndt is the dramaturg. 

Everyone's favorite upside-down fairytale comes to Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) when they present SHREK The Musical, a song-and dance-filled stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film. The world of fairytales will be turned upside down in an all singing, all dancing, and irresistible mix of adventure, laughter and romance beginning July 7, playing thru Sunday, July 19.
