Theatre 29 is thrilled to unveil its first production of the 2024/2025 season, Musical Mischief, a captivating cabaret that puts the spotlight on the most notorious villains and misunderstood characters in musical theatre.

Frank Loesser’s musical, based on Shepherd Mead’s 1952 satirical book, follows the ambitious J. Pierrepont Finch as he rises from window washer to chairman of the World Wide Wicket Company. Guided by his literary muse, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Finch navigates corporate challenges and triumphs.

Desert Theatreworks is thrilled to announce its upcoming stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film, 'Dial 'M' for Murder,' running from October 4 to 20, 2024, at the DTW Blackbox Theater. This production promises to immerse audiences in Hitchcockian suspense within the intimate confines of our theater. 

Theatre 29’s 2023-24 season comes to a close with the hilariously murderous comedy “Clue” which opened Friday August 16th for a three-week run.

Opening night tickets are available for the opening night performance of Theatre 29’s annual fundraising musical revue “Mis-Cast” on Friday, June 28th at 7:00PM.

Theatre 29 will hold open auditions for the new comedic murder mystery “Clue: On Stage” on Monday, July 1st at 6:00pm on the Theatre 29 Main Stage (73637 Sullivan Road, Twentynine Palms).

Set in the 1950s, this story is reminiscent of the King of Rock. A songwriter finds himself in trouble when the rock and roll teen heartthrob he writes for, Conrad Birdie, is drafted into the Army. As a publicity stunt to record and sell one more hit record before he is sent overseas, a televised farewell is planned with Birdie set to kiss a preselected All-American girl.

Based on the 1960 novella by Elizabeth Spencer, 'The Light In The Piazza' is set in the 1950s in Florence, Italy, where Margaret Johnson, a wealthy Southern woman, and her daughter Clara, who is developmentally disabled, are vacationing from the US. When Clara falls in love with a young Italian man, Margaret is forced to reconsider not only Clara's future, but her own deep-seated hopes and regrets as well.

Earlier this season, Theatre 29 announced the desert debut of the Off-Broadway musical “Disenchanted” as part of their 2023-24 season. Due to unforeseen casting difficulties, they were not able to continue that project. Director Charles Harvey was able to field a quick replacement show for the same timeframe, the hugely popular ecumenical musical, “Nunsense”.

A pair of “Superheroes in Love” will bring their quadruple threat talents to Oscars Palm Springs for one night only May 11th at 7PM (Dinner and Drink service begins at 5:30pm).  Nicolas Dromard and Desiree Davar, Winners of 2023 BroadwayWorld NYC Cabaret Awards as “Best Duo”, bring their high octane show to the Coachella Valley for the first time.

Theatre 29 is bringing back their Audition 101 workshop to Theatre 29 as a new opportunity to those who have always wanted to try being in the spotlight but didn’t know how to start.
