Joan Arline - former Sexquire cover girl, who toured the country as a headliner during the golden era of the burlesque circuit from 1953-1958, will perform her acclaimed night club and cabaret show 'Ballet To Burlesque' on Sunday, May 22nd at a 2 PM matinee in Palm Desert at The Joslyn Center's Arthur Newman Theatre. The show will feature stories and songs from the burlesque era, complete with a few of her original costumes, vintage posters, and a few other surprises.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces Polly Carl will join the company in a new position as Director of the American Voices New Play Institute (AVNPI) beginning July 1, 2011. As director, Carl will develop and direct all existing staff and activities of the Institute, as well as support the artistic planning, production, development and study of new work by Arena Stage. This position reports to Arena Stage Associate Artistic Director David Dower.

Death Takes a Holiday will play a limited engagement through September 4, 2011.
