Dancap Productions Inc., producers of the award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, will celebrate the production's one year anniversary tonight at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. In honour of the anniversary, Dancap Productions is extending the current run of JERSEY BOYS through to November 29, 2009. Tickets are on sale now! Tonight's anniversary events include a ceremonial cake and special guest appearances by Bob Gaudio and Rick Elice.

Leslie Kritzer and Catherine Cox will star in a staged reading of MEMORY IS THE MOTHER OF ALL WISDOM (MITMOAW) at Barrington Stage Company. The reading is presented as part of Barrington's Musical Theatre Lab, and will perform Saturday, September 5 at 4pm, and Sunday, September 6 at 7pm.

The Huntington Theatre Company will offer $25 tickets to select performances of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winner Fences and to the world premiere of Grammy Award-winning pop icon Maureen McGovern's A Long and Winding Road at a special One Day Sale on Thursday, August 20. Robert Rehme, an Executives Branch governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, was elected Tuesday night (8/18) as president of the Academy Foundation, the educational and cultural arm of the Academy.

South Coast Repertory kicks off the 2009-10 Season with Putting It Together, a compilation of Stephen Sondheim songs, that the composer put together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, creating a narrative set at a cocktail party in an elegant Manhattan condo. The non-traditional musical, led by Broadway and television star Harry Groener, has a cast of five (a glamorous but slightly jaded couple, a starry-eyed younger couple and a savvy observer) who sing more than 30 songs that reflect their lives, lifestyles and moods of the moment. Some of the songs will be familiar, some less so, a few were even cut from their original musical scores, but they are all sophisticated, smart and drop-dead droll. All, in other words, Sondheim.

The Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present a reading of Chris Newbound's The Birthday Boy on Aug. 26 at 8pm. The theatrical event will take place at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. The reading will be directed by Bob Jaffe, and will feature Geneva Carr and Charles Socarides. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

On November 27 and 28, 2009 Rebecca Luker will join Shirley Jones and the National Symphony Orchestra Pops for NSO Pops: The Music of The Music Man. These concert reviews of songs from Meredith Willson's The Music Man will be led by Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch and will also feature the City Choir of Washington. The performances will take place during Thanksgiving weekend in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall on Friday, November 27 at 1:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Saturday, November 28 at 8 p.m.

Actor Joe Morton has been cast in recurring role on ABC's 'Brothers & Sisters.' Morton will be seen as a medical school mentor to Justin Walker (Dave Annable).

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is pleased to announce the full cast for Ordinary Days, a new musical with Music & Lyrics by Adam Gwon, directed by Marc Bruni. Ordinary Days will feature Lisa Brescia as 'Claire,' Hunter Foster as 'Jason,' Jared Gertner as 'Warren' and Kate Wetherhead as 'Deb.' This production marks the first musical presented in the Black Box Theatre.

Triad Stage opens its 2009-2010 Season - 'A Season Together' - with Picnic, William Inge's portrait of life in the American heartland. The greatest risk is love. It's a peaceful time for a quiet Kansas town in the early 1950s and summer is drawing to a close with the excitement of the annual Labor Day picnic. But the sudden arrival of Hal Carter, a handsome young drifter, stirs the emotions of a group of neighbors as he develops an instant attraction with Madge, one of the most beautiful girls in town. As Hal hides deep insecurities with grand shows of bravado, Madge is torn between her heart and her head in this Pulitzer Prize-winning drama where passions turn one small community upside down. Picnic runs September 6 through 27, 2009. Opening Night is Friday, September 11.

Due to ticket demand for Michael Buchanan's show 'I'll Do Anything,' an encore performance has been added for August 24. The show originally played the venue on August 13.
