Record Foreign Entries for 2010 Student Academy AwardsApril 20, 2010A record 61 entries from 36 countries, along with 497 entries from students representing 122 U.S. colleges and universities, are in competition for the 2010 Student Academy Awards. This year's pool of submissions includes a first-ever entry from Nigeria. The competition - now in its 37th year - will culminate in the awards presentation, which will include screenings of the winning films, on Saturday, June 12, at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
Flight Night at the Skylight Fundraiser Features Award-Winning Master Cheesemakers 5/15April 20, 2010The Skylighters, an auxiliary of Milwaukee's Skylight Opera Theatre, presents a new twist on its annual wine tasting fundraising event. 'Flight Night at the Skylight: A Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Event' is scheduled for Saturday, May 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward. Tickets are $35 per person in advance, $45 at the door. Proceeds from the event benefit the Skylight Opera Theatre and its programs. Patrons must be 21 to attend the event.
