Disney's THE LION KING at Mandalay Bay celebrated its second anniversary on the Strip this weekend. Since the show's debut in 2009, THE LION KING has captured the imagination of nearly one million locals and tourists. Following the Sunday evening performance, the show's cast and crew gathered to celebrate the occasion with champagne and a spectacular LION KING cake standing four feet tall and weighing 75 pounds in a magnificent portrayal of Simba's mask and body.

The Opera Company of Middlebury presents Puccini's luscious and rarely-seen love story, LA RONDINE at Town Hall Theater, directed by Douglas Anderson. The orchestra will be conducted by OCM's new musical director, internationally known conductor Emmanuel Plasson.

Following the tragic death of Northwest Arkansas actor Sean Phillip Mabrey, TheatreSquared has canceled the Saturday, May 21 6:30pm staged reading performance of 'The Poe Show.' Sean, who had appeared in the 2010 Arkansas New Play Fest as well as the recent T2 production of Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some), was scheduled to appear in the reading. Ticket holders for 'The Poe Show' will be offered an exchange into any New Play Fest event, and may contact the Walton Arts Center Box Office at (479) 443-5600. All other New Play Fest readings and events will continue as scheduled.
