The New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) launches its 2011-2012 season of dance with six exhilarating companies featuring some of the most significant and distinctive choreography today, including three New Orleans debuts and a world premiere. Single tickets for the 2011-2012 season go on sale Tuesday, September 6. Ticket prices range from $20-$125. Season ticket buyers save up to 20 percent off the single ticket price by purchasing a season ticket package.

Though beginning his music career just last year at the ripe age of 7, he has managed to capture the hearts of millions. The YouTube sensation has accumulated over 75 million views and 315,000 subscribers in just over a year and an additional 200,000 combined followers on Facebook and Twitter. Untitled Theater Company No. 61 presents PANGS OF THE MESSIAH by Motti Lerner. The year is 2014, and Israel is on the verge of signing a peace accord; in the West Bank settlements that Israel may soon abandon, no one is celebrating. Lerner's tense drama focuses on the Head of the Council of Settlements and his family as they struggle to retain the life they have built in anticipation of the coming of the Messiah. The play provides a rare window into the lives and psyches of the settlers from an insider's perspective. It is a family drama with broad political implications.

The New York Philharmonic Ensembles, composed of Musicians from the Orchestra, will give its second performance of the 2011-12 season on Sunday, November 20, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at Merkin Concert Hall, in a program featuring Jonathan Pieslak's Gray Fractures, Janá?ek's Mládí (Youth), and Brahms's Piano Quartet No. 2. The musicians on the program will be flutist Sandra Church; oboist Sherry Sylar; clarinetist Pascual Martinez Forteza; bass clarinetist Amy Zoloto (guest artist); bassoonist Kim Laskowski; horn player R. Allen Spanjer; violinist Lisa Kim; violist Rebecca Young; cellists Eric Bartlett, Maria Kitsopoulos, Sumire Kudo, Ru-Pei Yeh, and Wei Yu; and pianist William Wolfram (guest artist).

Set in Sunnyside, Queens, on that day in 1965 when Pope Paul VI visited New York, John Guare's early, breakthrough play features mockingly observed nuns, a lethal (but farcical) political bombing, a G.I. earmarked for Vietnam and, as a protagonist, a zookeeper who dreams in vain of making it big in Hollywood as a songwriter. As if that weren't enough countercultural loopiness, the zoo keeper, Artie Shaughnessy, has a wife named Bananas who really is bananas and destined for the institution that provides the play's title.

This October, the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) paid tribute to the Utah Shakespeare Festival's marketing and publications at the 56th Annual Convention and Expo in Fort Worth, Texas. The Festival earned two awards in the prestigious IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards competition. A poor sharecropper, but a strong man and a gifted farmer, he is proud of his leadership and standing. And when he finds out that his wife is pregnant, he decides to fulfill a dream -- to fix up and put fresh white paint on his shabby little tenant house. That simple wish turns his world upside down. Many people, not only the whites, don't want him to do it. Passions erupt, and resentment and fear gather like a dark summer storm, shattering family and community.

The ringmaster of the show is Adam-O (Adam Shenkman), with a bounce in his step and in his spit curl, titular mascot of most popular sugary cereal in the Milky Way. Every month, he's got a new mission, whether it's making a movie about his life, winning a stand up comedy contest or defeating the dastardly David Lunch.
