Returning to the Royal Room for the fourth time since 2005, Manhattan's sophisticated cabaret singer Steve Ross has been lavishly praised by audiences and reviewers alike for his singing style and personal elan. He rose to fame as a cabaret entertainer during his lengthy sojourns at New York's fabled Algonquin Hotel and Ted Hook's Backstage in the late 1970's, and spent the ensuing decades singing and playing in smart clubs and swank parties all over the world. The Ritz in London, the Crillon in Paris and the Imperial Hotel Tokyo, in addition to festivals in Hong Kong, Perth and Spoleto - these are but highlights of Steve's appearances on six continents.

At a press conference Florida Studio Theatre announced a multi-year capital improvement campaign to renovate the 6,000 sq. foot Gompertz Theatre and construct an 18,000 sq. foot addition with two new theatre spaces. The $5.6 million dollar campaign is the largest capital program in the 37-year old theatre's history and will double the number of renovated stages on the theatre's campus located in Sarasota's historic downtown.

Two-time Golden Globe winner, Academy Award & Tony Award nominee Kathleen Turner will make her Fort Lauderdale stage debut in the National Tour of Matthew Lombardo's play HIGH, February 29-March 4, 2012 at The Parker Playhouse. Directed by Rob Ruggiero, HIGH also features Evan Jonigkeit as 'Cody Randall' and Timothy Altmeyer as 'Father Michael Delpapp'.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (OST) and PB&J Theatre Factory present the funny and heart-warming original comedy, SLEIGH, playing December 1-18, 2011 at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center (812 East Rollins Street). Mr. Lauria, star of The Wonder Years and the original Broadway production of Lombardi, will also be reading one of the roles. The Main Street Players announced the world premiere of For the Love of Money, a one-man show by Daniel Nieves, showing December 2, 3, and 4 at the Main Street Playhouse in Miami Lakes. For the Love of Money follows the rise of Charles 'Lucky' Luciano, one of America's most infamous crime bosses, from his childhood in the hills of Sicily, through his rise to become one of the most powerful organized crime lords in the world, and ending in his imprisonment and eventual exile.
