According to the New York Times, the proposal for the $170 million park, which would be built on a multilevel platform 186 feet off the shoreline of the Hudson River, includes 'a series of wooded nooks and three performance venues, including an amphitheater.' The park, which would be called Pier 55, would replace Pier 54, a flat 875-foot structure that has been gradually sinking into the river.

Dan worked on the show from the start in 1998 at the Kit Kat Club/Henry Miller, moved the show to Studio 54 in 1999 and stayed with it through the entire run. More than 100 of Miami's arts and community leaders attended a reception October 21st at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU in honor of Dr. Carol Damian's farewell, celebrating her leadership and contributionsas she steps down as director and chief curator at the end of this month. In keeping with Dr. Damian's passion for art from the Americas, the event also served as the launch of the Frost's new endowment for Latin American and Caribbean art, announced by museum benefactor Tony Ulloa, who established the new endowment with his lead contribution.
