Diversionary Theatre to Produce West Coast Premiere of THE NEW CENTURY, 12/3-1/2November 3, 2009Diversionary Theatre will produce the West Coast premiere of Paul Rudnick's big gay comedy, The New Century, as the third show of their 2009-2010 season. The New Century features the outrageous and poignant stories of a Jewish matron, a flamboyant aging homosexual and a Midwestern craftswoman, and is filled with snappy one-liners and a moment of gratuitous nudity. Diversionary's production will be directed by Igor Goldin, and feature Phil Johnson, Dana Hooley, Jacque Wilke, Noah Longton and Stacey Hardke. Goldin directed last summer's smash hit Yank! The show will run December 3-January 2, including performances over both the Christmas and New Year weekends.

The evening features BILL IT, a kinetic portrait of the restaurant industry, POPULATION: 2, the story of the two remaining residents of a Midwestern ghost town, and GORMANZEE, a macabre puppet comedy exploring ritualistic primate slaughter, premiering at Spoke the Hub, 295 Douglass St., Gowanus, Brooklyn. Actors Scene Unseen Presents A BROADWAY CHRISTMAS CAROL 12/18-20November 3, 2009The show will play at The Van Every Theatre, The Mint Museum of Art from Friday, December 18 through Sunday, December 20. A 7:30 evening show will be held on Friday and Saturday and a 2:00 matinee performance will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

Taiko Caravan celebrates that metamorphosis with a return to the Southern Theater, featuring a program of traditional favorites, original compositions and new commissions. San Jose Taiko, one of North America's oldest and most prestigious taiko ensembles, joins Mu Daiko on stage the second weekend (Dec. 4-6 only).
