ARIA nominated Melbourne producer Dom Dolla has solidified his status as one of Australia's leading dance exports with the release of 'San Frandisco'. Los Angeles-based acoustic guitarist, singer, and songwriter IAN GOTHE has shared the first offering from his debut album MEMENTO via his interpretation of the Doors classic 'Spanish Caravan.' The video was premiered yesterday (October 30) via Guitar Player magazine in advance of the single's November 1 release. Look for the album, co-produced by IAN with Grammy-winning producer and engineer Jim Scott (Wilco, Tom Petty), to be available February 7, 2020 via the California-based Blackbird Record Label.

To celebrate the release of Thom Yorke's new video for 'Last I Heard (...He Was Circling The Drain)”from his current album ANIMA (released June 27 on XL Recordings), ANIMA Technologies opened its L.A. offices with a three-day immersive first look event.  The 5-minute short film, made at the Brooklyn-based experimental studio Art Camp, is set in a dream world inspired by fragments of Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood's imagination and made up of over 3000 hand-illustrated frames. The first clips of the film were shown throughout the ANIMA Technologies' offices, on desktop monitors as well as a custom-constructed TV wall. Sound experience was provided by Sonos.

The dire lack of affordable housing and a sharply rising inequity gap are driving San Francisco's homeless population to numbers not seen for 15 years with more than 8,000 people living on the city streets. Statewide, California has 129,972 homeless people (2018), the largest street population of any state (source: Kevin Fagan, San Francisco Chronicle, May 16, 2019).

Today the LA-based DJ/producer PBDY (pronounced Peabody) releases “Tears or Rain”, his brilliant new single featuring the vocals of Future Islands frontman Samuel T. Herring (whose previous collaborations include BADBADNOTGOOD, Madlib, and Clams Casino). Watch the accompanying video directed by Diego Navarro. “Tears or Rain” arrives as the third single from PBDY's (real name Paul Preston) debut album Careworn to be released digitally via Brainfeeder on 15 November 2019.  

Chicago pop-prog band Post Animal released their critically acclaimed self-written, performed and produced debut album When I Think Of You In A Castle last year via Polyvinyl, and today they share a new song before kicking off a North American tour with Twin Peaks. The band's first new song since 2018, “Safe or Not” takes the band's signature kaleidoscopic, guitar-heavy sound in a radiant, dance-ready direction and hints at more surprising sonic exploration to come. 

Wrong Again is Ags Connolly's third studio album, following on from his highly-acclaimed offerings How About Now (2014) and Nothin' Unexpected (2017). The traditional country singer-songwriter from Oxfordshire, England, took the reins on this latest effort, producing the album with a team of London-based musicians in the peaceful and intimate surroundings of Woodworm Studios in his home county. Ags also enlisted the expert help of accordionist Michael Guerra (The Mavericks) and fiddle player Eamon McLoughlin (Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell), both of whom had graced his previous album.

In honor of the one-year anniversary of their universally acclaimed sophomore LP Burnt Sugar, Florida punks Gouge Away have reworked their b-side hit “Stray.” The track flaunts the softer side of Gouge Away —  gauzy vocals, warbly guitar leads, and dreamy melodies— and today, they've unveiled their music video for the song.  The “Stray” video offers a glimpse into the life of Gouge Away on the road, where they've spent the entirety of the last year in support of Burnt Sugar.  The band comments: 'This is a project we made for ourselves that we wanted to share with you,” the band says of the track. “The music video is like a scrapbook to appreciate the opportunities we've been granted and the bands we've been able to call friends along the way. Thank you to everyone who has taken this journey with us.” 

LEE ROCKER of The Stray Cats fame today (October 30) has released a new self-written-and produced single and video, 'Dog House Shuffle,' via his label Upright Records (distributed through Orchard). The single and video premiered yesterday via Billboard.

88rising continues their winning streak of singles with the release of the “Hopscotch” music video. Showcasing collective members AUGUST 08, Joji, and Rich Brian with a guest feature from Barney Bones, the single arrives as another cut from the group's latest effort Head In The Clouds II, a diverse compilation of tracks ranging from dancehall to disco to vintage R&B.

Fresh off a 2-year hiatus, Louisville, Kentucky native Lougz releases his first single and visual “Squinted,” which arrives ahead of Lougz's upcoming project, Recluse, due out early 2020. The track was produced by Wvrly, with its accompanying video co-directed by Lougz and Jeris Johnson, who also shot the visual.

Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir has today shared the first single & video from his forthcoming new album – premiered with KEXP, “Youth” is a reflection of the artist's childhood. He also announces his third album Bury The Moon will be released on February 7, 2020 on One Little Indian Records, with a full UK/EU/US tour to coincide.

Celebrated indie songwriter BOB NANNA (Braid, Hey Mercedes, The City On Film) has released a brand new single titled “Do You Want to Buy a Guitar?” Lifted from Nanna's forthcoming solo album, “Do You Want to Buy a Guitar?” is the first glimpse into his highly personal upcoming showcase that details a major life shift for the seasoned musician: a full, all-acoustic album recorded entirely on September 7, the day that would've been Nanna's wedding anniversary.
