According to Deadline, Auliʻi Cravalho will co-star opposite Leslie Mann in Amazon's new television adaptation of Naomi Alderman's feminist sci-fi book 'The Power.'

“GUEST ARTIST”, a new film written by and starring Michigan's own Jeff Daniels and directed by Timothy Busfield will be presented at Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater on Friday, November 29, 2019. Preceded by a reception at 6:00 pm for VIP ticket holders, the screening will begin at 7:30 pm. Following the screening, there will be a talkback with director, Timothy Busfield, producer, Melissa Gilbert, as well as the stars of the film, Jeff Daniels and Thomas Macias. All proceeds from the film screening with go to fund The Purple Rose Theatre's 29th season of plays.

An unscripted 'Friends' reunion special featuring the original cast members and series creators is in the works at HBO Max, according to a Hollywood Reporter exclusive. 

BLUEBIRD, a new documentary hitting theaters on November 15th from Cleopatra Entertainment, has released it's first trailer and poster. Directed by Brian A. Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, is celebrating 20 years of delivering the healing power of music with a star-studded night in the city where it all began – New York! MOC's 20th Anniversary Celebration Presented by Citi will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at Edison Ballroom and will feature performances by multi-platinum singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw and singer/songwriter and star of TV's NASHVILLE Charles Esten. Throughout the event the organization will recognize its many milestones from the past two decades and will present Lifetime Achievement Awards to MOC Co-Founders Michael Solomon and Vivek J. Tiwary. 

The Samantha Fish Cigar Box Guitar Festival – New Orleans 2020 will take place over four days (Wednesday, January 15 through Saturday, January 18) in two of the city's best live music venues:  New Orleans' top Americana club, Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal St. 504-304-4714), which will host the Festival on Wednesday, January 15 and Thursday, January 16 (7:00pm-10:30pm each night);  and The Howlin' Wolf (907 S Peters St. 504-529-5844), which will host afternoon and evening shows on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18 (2:00 pm-11:00 pm each evening). 

The new music video from rising Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, Hether, for 'When U Loved Me' that premiered via Flaunt this afternoon. The video was shot in and around Los Angeles area and was directed by Alex Lill (Sampha, Phoebe Bridgers).

Australia's King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced two massive career-spanning marathon shows for Spring 2020. The shows, which will run for three hours and incorporate material from all 15 of the band's records, will take place at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA on April 18, 2020 and at Red Rocks in Morrison, CA on May 6, 2020. Pre-sale tickets to the shows will be available this Thursday, November 14 at 10am PT, and tickets will go on sale to the general public this Friday, November 15 at 10am PT. The National Symphony Orchestra has a rich history of recording, dating back to award-winning projects from the early 1970s with past music directors Antal Dorati, Mstislav Rostropovich and Leonard Slatkin. The Orchestra's new self-produced label celebrates this legacy and looks to the future with the release of the first recording under the baton of its seventh music director, Gianandrea Noseda. 

Power California's Our Future Fest, a freemusic, art, and action festival for young people took place over Veteran's Day Weekend this Sunday, November 10th at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes in Downtown Los Angeles. The event's stellar line up included headliner Kid Ink and D Smoke  - winner of Netflix's Rhythm And Flow - plus MCs Kendrick Sampson (The Flash, Vampire Diaries, Insecure) and Yesi Ortiz (97.1 AMP Radio). Along with great sets from Y La Bamba, Ruby Ibarra, DJ Livia, Fatty Cakes and the Puff Pastries, Chhoti Maa and Indigo Mateo, speakers Edna Chavez (March For Our Lives), Thomas Lopez (International Indigenous Youth Council) and Alyesha Wise(Spoken Literature Art Movement) delivered rousing speeches. The festival's grounds included multiple action tents with screen-printing, art making, voter registration and health and wellness activities. Prior to the festival's start, D Smoke, Kendrick Sampson and Yesi Ortiz took part in a round table discussion with some of the Power California youth organizers. They discussed how to use their power to energize their friends and family and how their goal to change the California state voting age to 16 would result in more young people making their voices heard.

Last night, Alice Merton's The Voice of Germany contestant, Claudia Emmanuela Santoso won the season. This victory marks the first time in The Voice of Germany's nine seasons that a female coach had the winning contestant. Prior to her victory, Merton and Santoso sang an original single Alice had written for her entitled, 'Goodbye.'  Santoso won the contest with a whopping 46% of the vote against four other competitors. Santoso is the third international contestant to win in the show's history.

For her 4th CD release, vocalist/violinist Calabria Foti wanted to do an album like her vocal heroes did back in the day; that is, with a big orchestra and legendary arrangers on the podium in an iconic Hollywood recording studio. Ms. Foti says, “This is the most expansive project I have ever done, and at the same time, it's the most intimate and personal. I recorded at Capitol Records with a full orchestra, singing some of the most endearing, sentimental songs ever written, all for my loved ones. This album is a full-production tear-jerker!”
