Menzel to Replace LuPone in Opening NSO Pops Season 10/28-10/30July 27, 2010Tony Award winner Idina Menzel will open the National Symphony Orchestra Pops season from October 28 to October 30, the Kennedy Center has announced. Marvin Hamlisch, the main Pops conductor, will conduct the concerts, entitled 'A Date with Idina Menzel,' and will perform himself following the opening concert. Menzel will sing classic pop songs, musical theatre numbers (including songs from WICKED and RENT), and some of her own compositions.

Second Stage Extends BACHELORETTE Through 8/14July 22, 2010Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) announced today that it will extend its production of Leslye Headland's BACHELORETTE, directed by Trip Cullman, for one week, through Saturday, August 14. The production, which was originally scheduled to run through Saturday, August 7, began previews on July 12 and will open at Second Stage Theatre's uptown home, the McGinn/Cazale Theatre (Broadway at 76th Street) on Monday, July 26 at 7:00pm.
