100 Years Tschauner, the latest Theater Comedy revue at Vienna's most famous impromptu stage, is the chosen production to kick off this year's Tschauner Season in the heart of Ottakring. It's the 115th anniversary, celebrating 115 years of delightful entertainment and countless unforgettable theatre moments. The open-air stage is full of stories, legends, and rumors and has two very special Guardian Angels.

1000 Years Tschauner is a vaudeville-ish, funnily foolish review of the theatre's greatest hits, combined with an entertaining storyline.

Tschauner Regulars, Lilly Kugler-König (Choreography), Jürgen Kapaun (book), and Markus Richter (Director) are desperately searching for the perfect Aniversary show and trying to jump through the hoops demanded by the hilariously funny duo, Daniela Lehner (Comödia) and Georg Hasenzagl (Melodramaticus), the show's narrators and angels, trying to win their bet with the one and only, God the Almighty himself. (Spoiler-Alert: They Win)

No one is safe when the Ensemble starts the evening filled with charm and even more sarcastically entertaining pointed jokes. From CATS to PHANTOM, to Vampires and much more, no one and nothing is safe.

Every show needs its star, and since the only audition candidate (Bernhard Viktorin with a big swinging dickey eleven o'clock number, showing why he is such an outstanding entertainer, worth every penny) had to call in sick after his stunning audition, the three of them, Kugler-König, Kapaun, and Richter had to do what must be done, saving the show by staring in it.

Opening Night's audience honored the production with cheers and tons of applause for this year's opening. It is Tschauner Season again, and the creatives prepared an entertainingly varied program, perfect for mild summer nights in the heart of Ottakring.
Here is a piece of advice, if you are not familiar (which I hope you are) with the lines from "Es muss was Wunderbares sein" from the Im Weißen Rößl (The White Horse Inn), listen to it before your visit, there might be the chance of possibility that you are singing along with Markus Richter. (Like the Opening Night Audience did in such an exemplary manner)

Indeed, something funny is happening in Ottakring.
