ImageGermany: Contributor Mark Janicello reviews VIVID GRAND SHOW at Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin, writing "l am seldom at a loss for words, VIVID GRAND SHOW left me speechless -- again and again and again. Last night's world premiere at Berlin's famed Friedrichstadt Palace, was an absolute stunner. Every moment in the show presented a consistent level of aesthetic beauty so spectacular in its concept and execution that 'my goosebumps got goosebumps.'"

ImageSeattle: Contributor Jay Irwin reviews Seattle Rep's A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS, writing "Dear Readers, in the past you may have heard me refer to what I call "theatrical alchemy". It's where all the right elements seem to magically come together in just the right ways to form pure theatrical gold. Well, the Seattle Rep currently has a bunch of alchemists working with them with their joint production with the American Conservatory Theater and their presentation of "A Thousand Splendid Suns", a riveting tale filled with so much tragic beauty that you'll be left breathless."

ImageWashington, DC: Contributor Elliot Lanes reviews THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME at The Arlington Players, writing "Here is the scenario. Imagine going to a community theatre in Arlington, VA to see a show that requires a good size choir and a fourteen-piece orchestra. I imagine some of you might think that the company was crazy. I'm here to tell you that, in the case of The Arlington Players' 68th season opener The Hunchback of Notre Dame, you would be totally wrong. Never assume anything until you witness it. The production indeed features a twenty-member choir and it utilizes Michael Starobin's full orchestration but besides that, the production overall is as good as I've seen from some professional theatre companies. Yes, you read that right folks."

ImageWashington, DC: Contributor Roger Catlin reviews MEASURE FOR MEASURE at Kennedy Center, writing "A hallmark of Shakespeare's comedies were these happily-ever-after final scene couplings and "Measure for Measure" was first published as a comedy before it fell into the category of one of his "problem plays." Even so, the problem then is clearly our problem now, and rarely has it been presented so dynamically and deftly, trimmed down so much that it lasts under two hours, uninterrupted, and moves at such a breathless pace nobody would stand for an intermission anyway."

ImageHouston: Contributor Bryan-Keyth Wilson reviews THE CHOIR OF MAN at The Grand 1894 Opera House, writing "From the heartfelt toast to the tap dancing of Freddie Huddleston, THE CHOIR OF MAN has something for everyone. Huddleston expertly choreographed this show with an eagle-eye that paid homage to the Irish culture and to the Golden Age of American Musical Theatre during the cup dance which reminded me of the the I Got Rhythm dance break choreographed by Susan Stroman in the musical CRAZY FOR YOU."

ImagePhoenix Metro: Contributor Herbert Paine reviews Arizona Broadway Theatre's TITANIC, writing "In all its technical aspects ~ Kurtis Overby's choreography, Savana Laveille's costumes, Amanda Gran's wigs and makeup, Kirk Bookman's lighting ~ Arizona Broadway Theatre's production of TITANIC THE MUSICAL, directed by Danny Gorman and featuring a superb cast, is equal to anything you'd see on the Great White Way, exemplary in its stagecraft. Runs through November 10th."

ImageCentral Virginia: Contributor Brent Deekens reviews LA CAGE AUX FOLLES at Virginia Musical Theatre, writing "Chip Gallagher's direction here cannot be underrepresented. Not only has he assembled a fiery company of actors to grace the Sandler Center's performance space with a myriad of stage tricks, but Mr. Gallagher has deftly maintained the necessary autonomy required for the occasional spurts of improvisational humor throughout the piece. It is a wonderful balance that his shrewd eye has expertly fashioned."

Regional Roundup: Top New Features This Week Around Our BroadwayWorld 10/19 - COME FROM AWAY, TITANIC, HUNCHBACK and More! ImageSeattle: Contributor Jay Irwin reviews COME FROM AWAY at 5th Ave Theater, writing "Dear Readers, as many of you know, back in November of 2015 Seattle was blessed with being one of the first cities to see 'Come From Away' before it ventured on to be the hit it still is on Broadway. And if you recall my review you'll remember how I implored you to drop everything you were doing, including reading the review, and go get your tickets to catch this amazing show. And I'm sure many of my friends will attest to the constant nagging from me of 'have you gotten your 'Come From Away' tickets yet' so they wouldn't miss the show and the ones who succumbed still thank me to this day for said nagging. Well, Dear Readers, the first National Tour of 'Come From Away' has started and it's once again blessed our city to start in, this time at the 5th Avenue Theatre, and once again I must implore you to stop reading this immediately and go get tickets to this groundbreaking, heartfelt, stunner of a show (and then of course come back and read the rest of this) and my friends are all in for another round of nagging."
