Ars Electronica Festival 2010: REPAIR - ready to pull the lifeline runs September 2-11, Linz, Austria

This year's Ars Electronica Festival (September 2-11) focuses on the world's current ecological, economic and political crises. This won't be a swan song dedicated to the good old days; the name of this tune is "You Better Move On." Occupying the spotlight will be committed individuals who've long since gotten busy on the job of preparing the way to a better future-pioneers who are no longer prepared to wait for politicians to finally realize that eloquent speeches aren't enough to halt climate change; trailblazers who bring much expertise, idealism and courage to the task of making their visions reality.

Raise your Voice

A preview of the festival theme is running at the Ars Electronica Center right now. The centerpiece of the "Raise your Voice" exhibition is the ecological disaster we're presently confronted with: enormous quantities of garbage carpeting the oceans of our planet, the environmental collapse of river systems and the loss of the drinking water they provide, mass extinction of animal species, and much more.
