Internationally celebrated and critically acclaimed musician/pianist and composer, Girma Yifrashewa, returns to Australia with “The Spirit of Nile”/’ – a series of 2 concerts here at Footscray Community Arts.
These concerts will celebrate one of Ethiopia’s most beloved artists and the Ethiopian community, one that has developed such a vibrant and integral presence in Melbourne’s west.
The concerts will include the support of local jazz legends, JAzmari’s Trio as well as a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony to open the events and welcome our communities.
From 11 - 27 November 2022, Neighbourhood will celebrate place, community and humanity in Melbourne’s West with 18 days of heartfelt performance, exhibitions and experiences.
This multi artform festival, co-presented by Footscray Community Arts and The Substation, beckons local residents and those from postcodes beyond to immerse themselves in a deeply-engaging program, spotlighting the communities that make up Western Melbourne’s social fabric.
