One of The Australian Ballet’s most popular events, Introduction to the ballet is ideal for newcomers to ballet and regular ballet attendees alike.
You’ll see the dancers of The Australian Ballet in class on stage followed by a fully staged performance of Act II of La Sylphide.
La Sylphide tells the story of Scottish dreamer James who, on the eve of his wedding, is fascinated by a woodland sprite. Intent on capturing the ethereal beauty for his own, he accepts the help of a vengeful witch, who leads him to his downfall.
