Theatre: Topsy
Here Theatre
30 June - 11 July

Topsy previews tomorrow night and runs for only 10 nights.

The story of Topsy, the notorious rogue elephant condemned to die in an electrical experiment devised by Thomas Edison, serves as a setting for a play about human emotion, greed and cruelty. With a fantastical Edwardian funfair set and a beautifully written script by lauded Melbourne writer Kit Lazaroo, this play is going to be wonderful and sad, funny and disturbing.

Preview Wednesday 30 June, Season 1 - 11 July*
Wednesday - Saturday 8.00pm, Sunday 5.00pm
Full $29 / Conc $24 / Preview $20

Performance times:
Thursday 8 July - 5.45-7.15pm
Wednesday 14 July - 5.45-7.15pm
Friday 16 July - 5.45-7.15pm

Gallery: Surreal Reality
Geoff Falk
6 - 17 July

The skills and discipline Geoff Falk brings to his paintings are an extension of his architectural training and practice. Falk says of his work, "Since I've been designing green buildings ... I have felt a strong urge to express a love for the earth and its inhabitants in my paintings." Falk's sweeping studies of peopled landscapes do just that.
Theatre: MANBETH
Band of Creatures and OpticNerve
15 July - 1 August

This is Macbeth, amplified.

A sellout in our 2009 Searchlight Festival, Manbeth returns to fortyfivedownstairs for a full season.

Band of Creatures and OpticNerve have stuck to the original tale, and the original Shakespeare, however this explosive retelling of the famous story is altogether faster, more fleshy and terribly beguiling.

Season 15 July - 1 August

Full $27 / Conc $23
