Smash hit Broadway musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown comes to Melbourne in June 2016 with a fun, fresh approach to an ageless story about a boy and his best beagle friend.

Alongside Charlie Brown (Cameron MacDonald - Currently Georgy Girl) and Snoopy (Luigi Lucente - Rocky Horror Show, Jersey Boys) on stage are their pals Lucy (Courtney Glass- Jekyll and Hyde) Schroeder (Joshua Robson - Les Miserables); Linus (Adam Porter - Scooby Doo Live and Yo Gabba Gabba) and Charlie's sister, Sally (Sarah Morrison -recently seen as the lead in Ladies in Black at MTC).

Nominated for four Tony awards, this revised production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown is an affordable musical comedy for the whole family, and it opens at one of Melbourne's newest theatres, the Alex in St Kilda.

Presented by Alex Theatre founder Aleksander Vass and Vass Productions and directed by Gary Abrahams (Bad Jews, Buyer and Cellar) with Choreography by Dana Jolly (Fiddler on the Roof), You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown brings the Peanuts gang together with a storyline and songs based on American cartoonist Charles M. Shultz's popular Peanuts comic strip.

Alex Vass said "We know how hard it can be for families to afford a great day out with the kids. Vass Productions wants to provide affordable entertainment for the whole family. You're a Good Man Charlie Brown has been a smash hit on Broadway and Peanuts is everyone's favourite. If you loved the movie come and see the show!"

Join the gang as they navigate their way through a day full of book reports, baseball games, kite flying, unrequited love, friendship, misunderstandings and a little philosophy.

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown began life in 1966 as a record album of American composer and songwriter Clark Gesner's collection of songs based on the Peanuts comic strip.

It was expanded into an off-Broadway musical in 1967 and first appeared on Broadway in 1971. A Broadway revival was mounted in 1999 with new musical arrangements and new songs that earned the show Tony award nominations and the 1999 Drama Desk award for "outstanding revival of a musical".

At its height, Peanuts was published daily in 2,600 papers in 75 countries and in 21 languages. Over the nearly 50 years that Peanuts was published, Schulz drew nearly 18,000 strips.

A family ticket to You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown costs from $120 (plus booking fee), making it an affordable show for the whole family during the 2016 winter school holidays.
