Desperately trying to keep it together? So is Jenny Wynter in VIKING MAMA! Release the mother warrior within from tonight 23rd to Saturday 25th June at Melbourne Cabaret Festival.
VIKING MAMA! sheds light on a day in the life of a Viking mother, as she tries to throw together a last minute third birthday bash for her little Viking son (played by a lettuce. Yes, you read that right).
This one woman rock opera features a passive aggressive neighbour, overly considerate husband, hyper-inappropriate grandmother and many other wild tribe members, all played by the comedic powerhouse that is Jenny Wynter.
Flanking her are the Valkyries (played by all-gals 40's style group Betty and the Betties), offering advice, support, occasional misguidance (and backing vocals), as well as a bearded lady pianist.
Making its Victorian debut, VIKING MAMA! is a must see cabaret for any mum who's ever felt slightly dishevelled at school drop offs, a little bit deranged at the local mother's group meetings or very much unbuttoned in front of the in-laws.
Join in the fun and celebrate the craziness that is motherhood this Melbourne Cabaret Festival! Lettuces may be harmed...
