Like recurring thrush, feminist duo Pink Flappy Bits are back with their raucous comedy-cabaret - and their friends are itching to get in on the fun. Returning to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival after sold-out run in 2016, the girls are teaming up with their most flamboyant, feisty friends, saluting the moistest parts of us all, in an eclectic, cabaret extravaganza - a Flappaganza.
Pink Flappy Bits is the creation of Louise Mapleston and Tara Dowler. It is a tour-de-farce by two young feminists exploring the intricacies of gender politics in the only way they know how - through cabaret, humour and song.
Louise and Tara met tramping the boards for Monday Uni Student Theatre. Both women are powerful musicians and songstresses in their own right and together form a musical whirlwind of sass, soul and blues.
With original musical numbers, including the catchy 'White Feminist' and soaring 'One Boob (Is a Little Bit Bigger)' anthem, the girls will have you cackling, crying and tapping your feet. Add to that a selection of some of the most rambunctious musical, burlesque, cabaret and comic talents in Melbourne and you've got a Pink Flappy cocktail that is sure to satisfy.
Ready your Kotex, double your undies and laugh with confidence.
