The Bridge (Teatro Latino) Theatre Company Presents WOMEN ON THE VERGE ImageThe Bridge (Teatro Latino) Theatre Company presents: Women On The Verge: exclusive one off performance at Kindred Studios Yarraville 28th April 2018 doors open 6:30pm for 7pm show.

The voice of women needing to be heard everywhere. A collective claim to stop abuse and violence against women.

Women On The Verge was established in 2015 and portrays four adapted monologues from Dario Fo and Franca Rame.

Written in the 70s-80s it brings to life a political production through the story of four working class women as four cabaret dancers and the challenges and traumas they faced regarding women's rights and lack of equality during this time.

It has been reviewed on numerous occasions and it said to be " powerful, emotive and moving" and really topical during this current time with the #metoo and #timesup movement.
1 in 3 Women have experienced physical/sexual violence at some point in their lives.

2 in 3 victims of intimate partner/ family related homicide are women.

From the 8 monologues for Women by Dario Fo and Franca Rame four come to life on stage to create an exciting and powerful experience with touches of humor proving a funny and dangerous performance.

These four monologues come to life through dance and drama to announce each of their stories including a woman locked up by her husband, a sex worker who has set a building on fire in an act of revenge, the story of heart wrenching rape and a day in a factory worker's life who's on the verge of a crisis. These are the characters incarnated in this play.

The production aims to be as politically charge and dramatic as Fo and Rame, but also a touch of modern humor through humanistic connection.

Women On The Verge has been shown in a small but broad range of locations within the last few years, including La Mama Courthouse in Carlton, The Butterfly Club in the city, as well as a private viewing at the request of the Italian Consulate. Most recently, the Frankston Council funded a one off show to acknowledge International Women's Day on their 2018 March program.
