nowyesnow has announced a production of THE CITY by Martin Crimp at the Bakehouse Theatre, Adelaide, from Thursday the 12th of April to the 28th. Opening night is Friday the 13th.
The play is a mischievous look at suburban anxieties. Chris is scared that he's going to lose his job. His wife Clair, a translator, has met a writer in a train station who has lost his child. Their neighbour Jenny, a nurse on night shift, arrives to complain about the noise. Dislocated from each other all three struggle to discover where truth ends and fiction begins.
Incoming Artistic Director of State Theatre, Geordie Brookman will direct The City for the independent company nowyesnow.
The show will feature Matilda Bailey, Lizzy Falkland, Chris Pitman and Anna Steen. Set Design by: Victoria Lamb, Lighting by: Ben Flett, Sound design and composition: Anrew Howard, Dramaturg: Nicki Bloom.
