Sydney Theatre Company's Actor On A Box series returns during the Autumn school holidays, created and directed by the incomparable Jonathan Biggins, who turns his talents to theatre for young people for the first time with The Tale Maker.
Actor On A Box is a series of school holiday shows designed to introduce the magic of theatre to the youngest audiences. Combining one actor, classic storytelling and physical theatre these fun, intimate and interactive performances will be staged at the Richard Wherrett Studio, Sydney Theatre, from Thursday 12 – Sunday 22 April.
Performed by Lucia Mastrantone, retiring school librarian Miss Woolf brings enchanting and timeless tales to life in The Tale Maker, press notes state. Laugh at the Emperor's New Clothes, travel deep into the forest with Hansel and Gretel and up into the clouds to watch Jack conquer the giant at the top of the beanstalk. The Tale Maker will reawaken the magic of fairytales, ranging from The Brothers Grimm to Hans Christian Andersen, inspiring children to use their imaginations to tell their own stories.
The Tale Maker is designed for children aged 4 and over.
