Sydney, Australia, September 21, 2011 -- Ala Paredes, Daniella Serret, FELINO DOLLOSO, Jemwel Danao, Kim Shazell, Shy Magsalin and Valerie Berry will headline Aussies of the Magic Mic and Adobo Kind, a series of candid vignettes portraying the many layers of being Filipino Australian, which premieres at the 2011 Sydney Fringe Festival on September 29, 30 and October 1.
First-time playwrights Rosary Coloma and Erica Enriquez have whipped up the play's concept from their amusing and poignant observations of life as an Australian of Filipino heritage.
"It's a show that anyone, of any background, can relate to. It's the story of multicultural Australia -- finally told from a Filipino's point of view," Coloma said.
Aussies of the Magic Mic and Adobo Kind will play at the Cultural Centre at the Italian Forum, Leichhardt, 23 Norton Street, Leichhardt 2040. For more information, call 0449 153 650. Tickets start from $18 for children, $20 for concession/pensioners and $25 full price.
