The second week of the Fringe at the Bakehouse kicks off tonight (Tuesday), with Renegade Productions having arrived from Perth and NIDA graduates from Sydney.
Renegade Productions opens first tonight with two shows:-
"Angigone" - a contemporary take on the classic text (at 6.30pm)
Is our gender a "cage" that blinkers our experience of the world and each other?
How do we align the discursions of academia with the politics of today?
Decide for yourself just how much our modern world has, or has not, progressed since the sime of Sophocles.
"Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus" - The real story of Frankenstein (8pm)
as Mary Shelley meant it to be explores humanity in a whirlwind of love, rejection, violence and redemption that leaves in its wake a train of needless tragedy. - 8pm
(Both shows run until March 13)
NIDA SEX WARS opens tomorrow (Wed) and runs for 4 nights only at 7.30pm
Three short plays about sex by the 2009 graduating class of NIDA.
