We know that Absolutely Everybody Loves the 60's!! Come and join us at the School of Hard Knocks fab, groovy celebration of the psychedelic 60's on Sunday the 24th of September at Deakin Edge from 3pm.

Jonathon Welch, Founding Artistic Director of the School of Hard Knocks, will be Chief Conductor and MC. Jonathon explains "The School of Hard Knocks loves presenting these concerts which enable us to bring together a wonderful community of singers and musicians." This concert features Jan Van De Stool, 'International Music Therapist' and star of 'Australia's Got Talent' 2016 as our very funny and fabulous guest artist, THECHO!R and the award winning, Footscray-Yarraville City Band, conducted by Phillipa Edwards.

"The music from the 60s era is remembered so fondly and is a source of inspiration for so many. Certainly an inspiration for me! This will be one way cool affair! You will know the songs. I expect everyone will be up and grooving in the aisles" Jonathon said with a smile.

Choirs from the School's Absolutely Everybody choral program will also perform in our 350 voice massed choir. "We have choirs in Latrobe Valley, Frankston, Melbourne, Casey, Footscray, Sunshine and Fitzroy. We also have choral programs in Brisbane and Port Macquarie. I want to get the whole world singing!" Jonathon exclaimed.

The concert is a fundraiser for the School of Hard Knocks. Jonathon explained "The School is the culmination of my dream to expand our programs beyond the Choir of Hard Knocks and to engage the professional arts, education, welfare and volunteer sector to provide industry leading arts courses programs that will build pathways to further education and employment for those marginalized and experiencing disadvantage."
