Following a return sold out smash hit engagement in Melbourne, where MAMMA MIA! made its premiere in 2001, the 10th Anniversary Australian tour opened in Perth this week, where it will play a strictly limited eight weeks before transferring to Brisbane.
In its original "Australasian" run, MAMMA MIA! ran for four years, playing to over 2.2 million people in eight cities across four countries. Record-breaking seasons were enjoyed in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. MAMMA MIA! then played to sell-out crowds in Auckland, Hong Kong and Singapore. MAMMA MIA! enjoyed return seasons in Brisbane and its home city of Melbourne, closing after 1527 performances as the show celebrated its 4th Anniversary.
Returning as part of the 10th Anniversary Australian Tour in celebration of the West End Production's 1999 premiere, MAMMA MIA! now has Perth audiences singing and dancing in the aisles, reliving the original experience live-on-stage.
