Darlings of the indie music scene Skipping Girl Vinegar have returned from the US to launch their hotly anticipated third album, The Great Wave, at Arts Centre Melbourne this May.

A testament to love, The Great Wave is a sonic explosion of colour that encapsulates the heartbreak of a cancer diagnosis, the search for hope and light in the depths of critical life challenges, and the journey into recovery.

Written and recorded in sheds and abandoned halls in a small Victorian coastal village, the album is rich in melody, and deeply layered. Working with legendary US producer Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Missy Higgins), Skipping Girl Vinegar has created their most impressive work to date.

Singer-songwriter Mark Lang explains: "The natural elements of the coastal winds and the raging ocean outside provided a rich sonic backdrop beneath the recordings. Both the environment and Brad's guidance helped take us into deeper, clearer waters, creating the most emotionally direct album of our career."

The Playhouse is the perfect venue for the audience to submerge themselves in the beauty that is The Great Wave. Not just an album launch, the event will be a completely immersive experience utilising projections, colour and movement to fully bring to life the meaning behind the music.

Tickets will sell out. Don't miss your chance to ride The Great Wave at the Arts Centre Melbourne.
