Critically acclaimed cabaret artist Amy Bodossian emerges form the depths of the Salvos Stores bin to bring you a truly unique and breathtaking evening of all original songs and beat poetry. It's a bit filthy in there, but never fear, she's got her hand sanitiser! For two nights only this Green Room Award Nominee will adorn the stage of Melbourne's most beloved cabaret venue, The Butterfly Club, with tales from her heart and mind - and the inexplicable spaces in between.
Have you ever thrown something you once loved into the charity bin? Have you ever lost your mind, only to find it again in the most unsuspecting of places?
Inspired by her recent artistic day job at the Salvos, where this glamorous diva was sorting through your dirty underwear (which was a bit stressful, as she has obsessive compulsive disorder), Bodossian will power through twelve songs and beat poems, accompanied by David Seedsman on piano, guitar and foot percussion.
Join her as she swims in search of salvation - in all its glorious and twisted incarnations - singing of love, lust, liquor, letting go, domestic bliss, unrequited crushes, what it feels like to be a 'girl', a lover, a human. Bathe with her in nostalgia as she muses on the wide-eyed wonder and dark debauchery of life in the late teens and early twenties. Share her confusion and frustration as she reflects on her recent experiences visiting a detention centre. Laugh with her, cry with her, and revel in the human experience.
